Current form - 8 losses, 2 draws and 1 win. Below Forest in the PL. Only Leicester and Southampton have worse form. They face elimination from the CL in the earliest stage.

The squad is looking old and/or out of form. Walker has lost his pace. De Bruyne can't play a full game. Gündoğan no longer able to get forward to create or score. Gvardiol making mistakes. Foden hasn't scored since May 2024.

City are also charged with 115 counts of financial wrongdoing. They may face relegation or a large points deduction.

I think we'll be OK. Get through this season, hopefully in the top 4. Few additions in January will help. Then start the rebuild.

Could see Ederson, Ortega, Stones, Walker, Gundo, Kova, KDB, Nunes, Grealish needing to be replaced at a minimum. Probably will take a couple of years to do that.

We may get relegated or a large points deduction. We may get a fine, a small points deduction or no punishment at all.

It's all up in the air so no real value in guessing what's going to happen and how we'll all deal with it.

We'll all have an idea soon enough.

I think it'll all depend on the outcome of the charges. They'll be hoping it's sorted before the summer window or it'll really hinder there rebuild.
The decision should come around March. If either side appeals the decision it'll go on for another year.

It'll be a busy three or four windows for us regardless of the outcome.

Yeah I agree it'll be busy, but it'll determine the quality you can bring in.
I guess we can only wait and see.

We set our targets months, sometimes years in advance and I don't think we'll have two separate lists.

I've got a City supporting mate who's hoping this makes the club embrace their youf instead of using it as a pure profit sugar hit. Could benefit you guys long term.

i think pretty much all genuine fans of all clubs prefer to see youth at least given a shot. this feels like the perfect opportunity now, the senior players have shown themselves to be unreliable over 2 months now. not a few games where you perhaps havent had the rub of the green or a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes, it's now a solid 2 months of the same players letting the team down. if players are carrying injuries, dont play them. find answers from somewhere else.

Yes and no. Selling the youth has enabled us to build the squad to achieve the success we've had over the past decade, and the majority were never going to be good enough for us anyway.

But I love to see a kid get a chance, and while we have given a taste of senior football to loads it's only the odd 3 or 4 (Foden, Lewis, hopefully Bobb when he returns) that Pep really seems to trust. The rest played under a bit of sufferance.

PMSL.

Your net spend between Season 2013/14 and 2017/18 was 724m.

What provided you success was Abu Dhabi government owned businesses funding your purchases. It certainly wasn't funded by selling youf products.

The sporting directors have to take responsibility for the squad. The injury to Rodri and the loss of form for Foden and Gvardiol were unpredictable. But City had little transfer activity in the pre-season. With money not an issue they should have been looking at quality replacements for Walker, De Bruyne and Stones.

Having said that, City are losing to teams they shouldn't lose to. That goes back to Pep. How many more defeats before the unthinkable happens and he quits or is moved on?

With the case being over and waiting for a result, the City owners might be waiting to see what the result is before putting money into the squad. If they are hit with relegation (don’t see that happen), it could spell the end of these owners and they could decide to sell. If that’s the case, not sure spending £200+ million on squad upgrades is what they will do.

If charges were that much of an issue to the Mansour/Silver Lake etc I doubt they would have committed a half a billion in the past few years extending the stadium and building a hotel and concert venue outside the ground.

For me, Pep has earned the right to decide when he wants to leave.

As long as he has the backing of the players I'd have him as our manager at the start of next season regardless of how many more wins we get.

Just 4 points from the last available 24. Same as Southampton who are on track to have the second lowest of any PL side by Christmas. Pep seems at a loss to turn it around. I can see him leaving by mutual agreement.

Too short sighted. City have 6 of the last 7 league titles. You are gonna sack a guy for 1 lost cause season?

He's got the credits saved up to oversee the squad rebuild. Even if they miss European spots completely this season.
