Kagawa has been excellent. Already a smarter footballer than every other central mid bar Scholes.

Cleverly and Anderson are a bit like headless chickens at times but show some decent signs. Can't wait till we get another centre back or two on the park.

I actually thought Anderson was very good. His long passing was very good and whilst he did get overexcited at times, his attacking game was very good. If Evans or Rio are back for Southampton, I'd like to see Carrick and Anderson paired up in the midfield. I rate Cleverley, but would like to see Carrick and Ando given a go.

Footnote. I'm aware of Anderson's weight so witty remarks on that can be avoided.

Thought he had a good first half. Don't really recall him losing the ball at all, his first touch is excellent.

Pretty poor performance. Midfield, midfield, midfield.....sigh. Scholes coming on changed the game for us. We just have no cutting thrust with Carrick/Cleverley. Too similar.

Cleverley just needs game time to get his confidence up again - he has missed a lot of football and appears tentative.

In truth we were gash this morning.

Very harsh on the Saints who played some exciting football.

United keep coming and coming, they exhaust the opposition and then because of the belief they get results that they may not deserve on balance of play.

Without RVP we would have been left red faced!
