Going for a road trip with some mates up to Canberra for the weekend to see how bad it is? Might suss out parliament house and the zoo...

We had no plans this weekend so we decided to head up to watch the Dees as its not THAT far just a lazy 6 hours lol

My question to you is Where do we sit?? We dont wanna stand ! Bout to book tickets !

Um. Take a lawn chair? Never been to Manuka, but Canberra truly is an awful place for a road trip. Trust me, went up there with mates (from Canberra) a few years back for a Sonic Youth show and even when they knew places to go and check out it still totally sucked.

Maybe the zoo will be ok...

From memory the stands at either end are open slather but fill up quickly.

See if you can play AFL bingo and spot a different person wearing the merchandise of every team in the comp. We got the lot with a bonus Fitzroy a couple of years ago.

The War Memorial is probably the only decent thing in that joint, besides Fyshwick of course.

The Casino is good to get thrown out of when you pass out at the top of the stairs.

Yeah, the Roys had a substantial support base in Canberra.

Unfortunately, Oakley deliberately put the kybosh on any attempts by the club to benefit from this at the time, of course...

In my case I just collapsed down them. Woke up the next morning without a scratch and thought they must have been carpeted. Went back the next night (very sheepishly) and it was all marble. Must have been very relaxed.
