Regardless of what was said and by whom, I find it intriguing that *none* of the Carlton players found the insults/abuse towards thier captain to be offensive enough to come to his aid and support during these times of "banter", but as soon as Murphy had his retort to an injured and prone Carlisle, all the saints players in that half of the ground ran in to remonstrate. Speaks volumes about each clubs respect for their respective captains... or maybe I'm over analyzing things

I hate to break ranks and step away from the company line... But Milne is guilty of committing a sexual offence. Whilst he may not be what people said he was he still did something very, very wrong. To compare that to a woman having had multiple former partners (I know a lot of true blue aussies find that a horrific thought) is just sexist IMO.

You are the sexist, somehow Murphy's wife having a sexual history damages his domain over her. Perhaps it's not the 1950s where it was bad to have had sex. I don't really give a shit who my wife was banging before I married her, she had no commitment to me then. If someone mentioned it while I was playing sport against them I certainly wouldn't let it get to me because I would have the sense to know they were trying to get me off my game.

He must be quite insecure in the relationship to get so worked up though. If someone had got into their mid 20s without a sexual history these days it would be very unusual. The footy world is also pretty insular and a lot of girls who are in relationships with footballers would have had multiple footballer partners or experiences with other footballers.

I don't necessarily agree it's the right thing to do to sledge it's just ridiculous that it's become a sledging drama when it's gone on forever and no one seems to care but now it's a no go zone. I was sledged when I played footy, my coaches used to tel me " they will bag you for being too tall, too short, too ugly, mentally incompetent, unco anything they can do to put you off...just go out and show them it doesn't work by playing harder. "

We dont because we have grown up as a society. I think its time we grew up enough to respect your opponent my not having a go at family members and what they apparently did before they were married.
