Rumour Marc Murphy upset/targeted ?

How are Saint supporters defending Carlise, The club in Richardson and Geary have tried to contact Murphy to apoligise, nothing to defend guys you have no right to tell us what reaction Murphy should have only he has that right.

Given Geary and Richardson have come out and admitted what was said was inappropriate it's pretty fair to say the StKilda players responsible are completely in the wrong. I've never seen Murphy as a dirty player or someone who would instigate a melee so obviously he was extremely upset. Based on some of the things I heard mentioned he has every right even if that flog Carlisle was winded on the ground.

How does Carlisle have a conversation with his female assistant coach today about what was said - would he be OK saying that stuff to her? Do St Kilda want a womens team soon? Which female players will be lining up to play in that side if this is the sort of comments the guys team make.

There's no doubt other clubs would be the same but it's just stupid - time to grow up

Crikey look at all the st Kilda supporters saying fair game to crack into someone about their choice of partner.

Perhaps one shouldn't be surprised when they support guys like Milne and Montagna.

Fair game against women for the St Kilda followers in here it seems. Ordinary.

Reasonable post but it's not just murph who's copping it. It's his wife and family too. Imagine living in Melbourne where a massive proportion of the population knows of you and thinks you cheat on your spouse... Whether it's true or not that's gotta be awful for her.

100% agree I just wanted to keep her name away from it as much as possible. Some responsibility needs to be taken by the media here.

Coward is talking serious smack on a footy field with 6 umpires, multiple cameras and thousands of witnesses, pretty easy to mouth off when you know the worst you'll cop is a couple jumper punches.
Nah, kicking someone who is incapacitated in the head would be a tiny little bit worse.

Each to their own.

I say it would have had something to do with the rumour from last year about Carey.

I can't blame Murphy for what he did, I would have kicked Carlise in the head while running past.
My point is that nobody knows what is supposed to have been actually said.

What is too far?

Hey Marc, Wayne told me to say hi to Jessie.

Is that too far?

It's not often you would find the overwhelming majority of neutral AFL supporters backing the captain of the Carlton FC. If you're on the other side of the argument, that really should be enough to make you reconsider.

If the rumours are true about Carlisle talking about Murphy's wife, then that's stupid from Carlisle. Being called a drug cheat is only directed at the person, but to insinuate something about a player's wife is pathetic

So then, who started it? Because I'm certain any Essendon or former Essendon player, is going to be unhappy about being called a drug cheat, and they will rightly return fire.

Whether it was over the line or not, no one here 100% knows, certainly not Barrett. We can most likely assume that the sledging was over the line.

However, Murphy's actions were also over the line when a player is down on the ground and not moving, and from a crowds perspective, it was an unsportman like act.

Takes two to tango. He said, she said, I'm right, you're wrong, everyone is to blame.

The only one I haven't heard apologies is the Carlton team, I would nearly bet a left nut that words were thrown from both sides of the fence which made the pot boil and topple over for both sides.

This thread now has moderators sticking the boot into Jake Carlisles character.
Does that mean that BF now sanctions personal character attacks on footy players they choose not to like and in turn sanctioning others to do the same.

There is no rule saying moderators aren't allowed to have opinions.

If a post is against the rules, feel free to report it, otherwise...

The thing is ..I don't think St Kilda really give a ****.

Well, clearly they do or why put out a statement denouncing what went on?

God there's some dumb campaigners on this board.

This is a club with a terrible recent history in relation to the treatment of women and are actively trying to get an AFLW license.

what did he say then?????

You're in an echo chamber where any body will dig the boots in at any chance they get, I probably wouldn't be taking it too seriously because it suits you lol

Probably right then again setting a Dwarf on fire would be much worse.

I said "If" for a reason. I didn't say that Murphy was right for saying it. It was petty and stupid from Murphy if that is what was said, especially when he was on the floor. But if Carlisle did indeed go there with Murphy's wife, then that is too far.
