Who the hell is his girlfriend?

Kemmi?

A full name would be great :thumbsu:

Roddick got burned from all over the court, its dissapointing really and shows that he isnt that good, could you imagine if his serve didnt bail him out in some games. Some incredible winners by baghdatis and the greek and cypriot lads again helped him out a lot.

Roddick isnt that good? Are you kidding me? Jeez, maybe it was a bad day. I didnt see the game, but roddick has been in the top 3 in the world for 3 years straight I think it is. Not even Andre Agassi did that. Dont say he isnt that good.

First signs of being challenged in this years oz open and he chokes, not good enough im afraid, he is one of my favourite players and had he knocked out Baghdatis today i would have liked seeing him go all the way but lets face it he isnt a complete enough player to consistently win slam titles. Today he was beaten from the back of the court, then was destroyed at the net every time he came in unless he got 100% of his first serves in he was never going to win today and even some of those came back with interest, someone like federer would have been able to make some sort of adjustment but with roddick once he gets in trouble he is generally screwed and once again he has failed down here:thumbsdown:.

As for Baghdatis, does the damage on the court and will probably come out on top in the bedroom tonight, lets hope Philippoussis was watching!

Roddick wasnt terrible. Baghdatis was superb, as i said he brilliantly outplayed him, he got Roddick out of his comfort zone with a lot of success on many points (ie got him at the net volleying and turned hitting his power groundstokes into brilliant winners of his racquet). Very few players can outplay Roddick and exploit his game to beat him, that shows how good Roddick is.

Roddick isn't good enough, and I'm one of his biggest fans.

You can only go so far on a big serve. I think the other parts of his game are getting better, but mentally he's a mess. I think he's a head case. He's developed an inferiority complex towards Federer, who owns him (and everyone else) and I don't believe Andy believes in his own game anymore.

Needs a sports psychologist and quickly, otherwise he's going to go down in history as one of tennis' greatest underachievers.

The Scud has that title well and truly covered. ;)

Baghdatis would've beaten most blokes today playing like that, some of those forehands were absolutely scorching.

Roddick does struggle when challenged, also he has a 1-10 record against Federer so it probably shows he's got enough weaknesses that he might never achieve much more than he has in regards to Grand Slam success ( except for Wimbledon).

Baghdatis was superb, nothing much Roddick could have done about it, he was outplayed, it happens, he'll be back.

Agree with that, the guy couldn't miss with those forehand winners. He's definitely one to watch in 2006.

Great interview with Jim Courier as well. :thumbsu:

Rankings mean very litte in tennis, its grand slams that count and in that department Roddick has failed to achieve and constantly does not have the mental strength to advance in the latter rounds of a grand slam once he is challenged by a good opponent.

Is funny to see all the Greeks jump on this blokes bandwagon (while it is revealed in Monday's newspaper he is actually of Lebanese heritage)

He is only 1/4 lebanese!

As for the bandwagon comment if you have been paying attention the last couple of years you would notice last year he received huge support as well, remember a flare being lit after his match against robredo on the show courts lol, so no bandwagon element there those lads have been their since the beginning.

He's a Cypriot.
Thats fair enough as theres lots of Greeks living there.

Well if your cypriot your Greek unless your turk-cypriot, its an independant country with its flag but really thats where it ends, language is greek, same religion as greeks and the national anthem is the greek one which marcos was singing at the changeover at one stage yesterday to pump himself up.

As for the fans the hellas fan club as its known, well 80% of them wouldnt even have any cypriot in them i'd be guessing. Its funny hearing the commentators saying " the cypriots are going wild" and they show a shot of the boys and theirs greek flags everywhere. But i know the cypriot boys would be loving this.

Great entertainer.
But who the heck was his chick?! What an absolute stunner.
I definately would let my coach watch his next opponent while i was sleeping with her.

A lot of them are family members too... he has something like 9 uncles and 21 cousins that live in Australia...

He is one of my favourite players on the tour since last Jan when he took a set of Federer here in the 3rd or 4th round i think from memory...

As a Cypriot myself, it's cool to see him do so well, just because the country is SUCH a minnow.

I've lived there. It's smaller than Victoria and the population is around 750,000. I think I read that he moved to live and train in Paris when he was 13. There's no way he'd be this good if he'd stayed in Cyprus.

Maybe the girl is French. She certainly doesn't look Cypriot. His Yiayia will be shattered!
