Nathan Jones 2.0I couldn't think of a worse fit for him than Melbourne.

A mid first iHard to say if you're dealing with us, considering we don't have a whole lot of capital this year. If we're looking at Windhager, it makes me think that one of Trac or Oliver will be moved (doesn't make much sense otherwise).
Hard to nail down. Great defensive mid who looked good in a more attacking role later this year, but is still somewhat unproven (at least in terms of his capacity to be an A-grader), and his disposal can be pretty suss.
If he's moving though, you'd imagine it's for decent coin, so the trade deal would have to be pretty solid.
Maybe a mid-first would be about right? (if we had it)

If they can net out Ryan and Aleer for Windhanger I think there done ok.What is the general consensus of his trade worth?
I am finding it hard to have an un-biased opinion on that.
We were never going to overpay to keep him we actually have some depth for players of his type, Garcia and Boxall are developing nicely and have higher ceiling’s talent wise it would be nice to keep him but if him going gives us the trade capital to bring in Flanders that’s a win for us he would fill a much bigger needSaints refusing to budge on a 2 year offer for this bloke all year, until a week ago. Why play with fire with one of your few kids that has actually established himself. A free hit from their NGA as well.
Your future first? Probably want to keep any first you get for Petracca if he goes and if he stays that’s probably all you have?Hard to say if you're dealing with us, considering we don't have a whole lot of capital this year. The dumbest list management strategy since SOS last worked his giants magic at Carlton has backfired within a single week.
Hard to fathom they are willing to lose one of their best young kids, who is a home grown NGA talent and already best 22, for what is going to be unders over the sake of a few extra years. Could genuinely be a 3 way trade where the pick gets sent straight to GWS for Aleer who is half the player and surplus to needs at both GWS and St Kilda.
Well at least the Saints are “trying something different”![]()
West Coast Eagles.I couldn't think of a worse fit for him than Melbourne.
Tough one. If we trade our F1 for Windy and keep Trac, it'd be two consecutive years out of the first round, which isn't great for a team at our stage of rebuilding. Chance that could be a pretty good pick, too.Your future first? Probably want to keep any first you get for Petracca if he goes and if he stays that’s probably all you have?

You do realise that just because you don't accept a player's demands = offering him unders.Just seems like there is very little strategy involved. All short term sugar hits with no long term vision.
Offer Windhager unders because you have lesser players on the list who could play his role. “Could” being the key word here with the switch up from rebuild thinking to finals now.
Offer TDK severe overs despite having Marshall, a superior ruckman, and Dodson, a great young kid who aligns perfectly with Marshall slowing down.
Very inconsistent imo. It will be a shame for the Saints to lose a home grown NGA kid and after all the fuss about academy advantages it makes it further baffling.

What players are coming in and for how much should have no bearing on his contract. A player's value should 100% be based on their output. He should be aware of this, just as every other player in the AFL.

I highly doubt the PSD is a genuine threat given it was reported West Coast was keen on him. He'd be a better fit for them than in Melbourne IMO.Wouldn’t have thought the Saints were at the point of letting players like him go. He did very well on Bont earlier this year, only Saint that stood up in the guts.
Suspect a contracted Flanders is going to cost more than an OOC Windhager going to a club lower down the ladder that can apply the PSD threat discount to the trade.
Time will tell I suppose it’s not like they desperately need to keep himGc aren't trading Flanders.
Yeah, it’s a head scratcher on how you do it.Tough one. If we trade our F1 for Windy and keep Trac, it'd be two consecutive years out of the first round, which isn't great for a team at our stage of rebuilding. Chance that could be a pretty good pick, too.
But not entirely sure how this works without Trac and/or Oliver going. Langford, Pickett, Rivers, Lindsay, Windsor, Petracca, Oliver, Viney and Windhager looks like a good group on paper, but there's just not enough midfield minutes to go around.
TL;DR – wouldn't want to send out F1 if we keep both Petracca and Oliver, but would be open to sending a first from a Petracca trade.
