I, like a lot of essendon supporters have been on his back over sub standard performances over the last 2 seasons but if (and I hope we DO)trade him, what do you think we would get for him?

thats what I am afraid of, obviously i am not after high quality picks or players, even a late 3rd round.

its a pity for a bloke that was a 1st round draft pick himself

I don't think we'd get much or anything for him by himself, late 2nd round would be a gift, but we might be able to pick up some value for him with some other players thrown in.

Similiar question, what would be have to trade away for a club to take Henemen off our hands. Sheedy has persisted with these 2 for way to long.

Agree- way too long. Should not have got rid of Richards, he always gave 110% and sent Bolton, henneman and Cartledge up there instead

He's handy as a depth player tho. Definitely not in our best 22, yet certainly not the worst we've got on our list. He stays relatively injury free unlike some other talls from other clubs. Need to realise that injuries and suspension has caused this shocker of a season....we're not usually as bad as our record suggests. We've got worse on our list...I think his age might render him safe for at least another season

Nobody would want him, the only use this player has is playing a run with role on a taller style midfielder type a al Kout/Goodes which he has at times done ok on these guys. Cant play kP in attack or defence and has shocking decision making skills. Well end up keeping him Id say

Mark Bolton is a project that Essendon's kept for way too long. I just read somewhere that he's already 27. He hasn't played one good game or accomplished 1 good thing over his career, but we still have him. If there is any chance that we could get something for him at the end of the year, we have to do it. We should get rid of Henneman and Reynolds too while we're at it.

He played on good game on adam goodes, i think it may have been last year. The rest of the games he has played he has been an absolute *******. Yesterday his turnovers were shocking, we had the run of play a number of times and he has coughed it up with simple disposal errors. He was not alone though, but bolton is consistently crap. just delist him and be done with it. I'd rather see a younger player elevated for the rest of the season to get some confidence up.

We won't get anything for him in a trade and i feel we should keep him for depth as he never gets injured.

It may happen, although it will be hard to actually find 7 players to delist to make way for draft picks and promotions, depending on what Hird and Rama actually decide to do.

What are his roles?

It seems to me like his main reasons for being on the list are to tag Goodes and to tag Kouta.

Well he failed miserably on task #2 yesterday.

He is a role model for Joel Reynolds who seems to be turning out more and more like Bolts every week.

Yeah, for a bottom of the table clash, Reynolds was no where to be sighted.
Still dont rate him, but then again, Whitnall played quite solidly across the back, so Reynolds really never stood a chance to begin with

Can't attack, can't spoil or tackle. Can he mow lawns? I'll give you $50 and an old whipper-snipper for him.
