tipping Whitey will get a run in there too.

TW now has options that can keep the pressure on for 4 quarters. ;)

Just looking over his old stats make me excited.

Some of his individual games in 2003:

34 possies, 4 tackles, 1 goal
31 pissies, 4 tackles, 1 goal
29 possies, 6 tackles
28 possies, 10 tackles, 2 goals
27 possies, 5 tackles, 1 goal

Plus:

19 possies, 5 tackles, 3 goals

High possessions:

34, 32, 31, 29, 28, 27, 27, 24

High tackles:

10, 8, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6, 5, 5, 5

Even if he comes back at 90%, he will be our best midfielder next year behind Deledio.

Coughlan's best was about two classes above Foley's best!

People have forgotten how elite Cogs really was!

yeh.....great.......

that many midfielders is pretty impressive we seemd to sruggle this year against sides with developed midfielders (Sydney, Adelaide) we just couldn't keep the preasure on for long enough periods will be good to seeo ur midfield become even stronger next year

And that was just his 3rd season!

In his first real year (season 2) he had 2 disposals in his 4th match, then 29 disposals in his 6th match.

From then on it's 24 possie average for the season before his awesome 3rd year.

Year 4 was OP.

Year 5 he got 38 possies and 7 tackles in a single match.

Year 6 he got 35 possies, 4 tackles and 1 goal in a single match before doing his knee 2 weeks later.

The numbers don't lie.

Cogs was arguably a better young player than Brett Deledio. We have forgotten this.

If Lids got injured for 2 years surely you'd expect him to still make an impact the year after?

would be great if he could get back in and work back into top level footy again. just hope the game hasnt passed him by. the thing he used to lack was speed and the game has gotten progressively quicker in the last 3 seasons.

would love to get him back in the middle feeding the pill out and kicking his helicopter goals from 45, if he makes it back and plays a big part he will take over the mantle as fan favorite from Richo when the big cat hangs up the boots.

Would be great to see him ressurect his career but i think i'll keep my expectations pretty low on this one. One good thing going for him this time around is that he wont have to do all the work in the midfield.

The perfect start to the 2009 season for me

- Polak returns.
- Coughlan returns
- We beat Carlton.

My life would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttt !!

Cogs will struggle with the pace, but his in and under work will be important, we have lacked that hard in and under player who can also tackle. Thomson helps us out there too, so if we can both these guys, we'll be a much better team.

ok at bartel and corey those 2 arnt the fastest players but there smart and can read the play very very well i think coughlan is a very similar player to corey and bartel.

I cant wait to see him play next year. He will add that grunt youve been missing in the midfield. Richmond is my smokey for Top 4 next year, 2009 will hopefully be a great year for you guys.

Cheers. I agree. Cogs returning is the thing I'm looking forward to most about next season. Even if he can't get back to his best, which if we're honest is unlikely, I just can't wait to see him out there again. I don't really think of him as being a member of our team anymore, when in fact he's probably in our top 4 when fit. Can't wait.
