Mark coughlan return

imho cogs doesnt need to be the quickest player at richmond, there's been enough recruited in the last few years, where he excels in, and will excel in next year, is being the player at the bottom of the packs feeding those lightnig players. it's going to be great to see him in the yellow and black again next year.

ps. long time reader - first time poster. thought i'd get in before all the bandwagon talk that would happen when the tiges finish top 4 next year.

Man I love this forum.
Who would have thought there were so many other people out there who love Cogs as much as me? It's like a family.
I love reading the meaningless chit chat. I told my wife that I have new friends and when I told her they were the BigFooty folk, she just laughed. (I told her that you don't know that you are my new friends, but you are:)).
I have a bad feeling about Cogs though. We have been hoping for so long, and something would happen that would give you hope... a couple of games... some surgery... and then it's back to rehab.
Do we dare hope too much?

Why not? We are Richmond supporters anyway! We've been hoping for nearly 30 years!

Lets say that he doesnt get back to his 2003 form. There is every chance this may happen after basically missing 5/6 seasons. Do you rekon we could play him as a back pocket to play on the smaller fowards. A tough, smart player could be good for us down back

ok at bartel and corey those 2 arnt the fastest players but there smart and can read the play very very well i think coughlan is a very similar player to corey and bartel.

A certain Sam Mitchell ain't exactly the fastest player in the league and he also goes alright...;) Cogs has terrific skills and vision and hopefully next year he can play at around 70-80% of his best and then the following year, he can unleash....:thumbsu:
carn' cogs....:thumbsu:

Cheers. I agree. Cogs returning is the thing I'm looking forward to most about next season. Even if he can't get back to his best, which if we're honest is unlikely, I just can't wait to see him out there again. I don't really think of him as being a member of our team anymore, when in fact he's probably in our top 4 when fit. Can't wait.

Wow! WOW! stop right there!!!!!! What about a fully fit Cotchin with a full pre season!!!!:eek::eek: Cant split them cogs and cotch are the 2 thing im lookin forward to!!!

Mark coughlan, another brown!!!!!

I hate to say it cause i really do love the guy but i think his time has come and gone,

i mean you peak in between the ages of 23-26 and he is going to be using his 26th year to catch up,

that means by the time he is fit enough to make a genuin impact he will already be over the hill.

Really wish this didn't happen to him, it took me a long time to get over the fact that we had probably the best small forward in the comp but we could never ever see him at his full potential, it's as tho fate has a heavy hammer pointed right at the richmond football club

Lets face it guys has brown ever been the same? glimmers maybe but never what he was.

I don't think coughlan's story will be any different!!!! Hope i'm wrong!

Re: Mark coughlan, another brown!!!!!

Thanks for your input. But if you look closely, we have a thread just for Cogs. You're opinion would have been welcomed there.

Game has past Cogs by.
You can wish upon a star if you like, but it's over for Cogs.

I just want to know what imperical evidence supports that apart from some observations of other players. Cogs apparently was getting alot of the footy in the magoos towards the end of the season.

Does anyone have any examples of players that have made a successful comeback after 2 seasons out? Ive heard about plenty that havent made it back but the only one who comes to mind that did make it back after 2 knee recos was Hadley from the tankers and he is a shadow of what he was.

Cogs is still my favorite player in the RFC list (besides the obvious Richo). The guy just bleeds yellow and black, Such a hard nut, Such skill, Such a player we have been missing from our line up.

The return of Coughlan will be one to remember. Best of luck Mark... You deserve a long footy career after your horrible run with injuries.

Both Cogs and Cotch are the things im most looking forward to seeing when I head to Victoria to see us get up over the blues round one.
