Gets 40 possies every game nearly in the reserves.

Should have been called up a year ago or prehaps he was and was dropped again as a scapegoat for Grants poor coaching?

In any case, his form warrants a seniors birth but the selectors have other ideas.

Did the same thing at Willi

Just can't put it together in the show

I reckon he's a great player, tho how is he gonna get a chance at the saints with the midfield they have? will prob be traded i guess. Would shine at a lesser club i reckon...

If the saints had no injuries at all, i'd still have him in my best 22 as i rate him highly.

Noone finds the ball more then this guy. All he has to do is play a similar style to West and he'll become one of the elite midfielders in the league.

ie. HANDBALL!!

:)

In the modern game where quality disposal is paramount, his importance is lessened.

Must learn to kick if he is to keep his spot at season's end.

Still, he is a ball magnet, and while you can teach a bloke to kick, you can't teach him how to get his dukes on the leather.

Would prefer his progress was quicker, though.

but his use by hand is not much better than his use by foot, at senior level anyway.
Gun VFL footballer, agree 100%, but will aways be found out at senior level on a fast track.

43? That’s a huge effort wet or dry. I wish he could have improved his kicking more. I still think a slow bloke that can get it like he can has a place if he can use it. Unfortunately he has the two deficiencies that modern coaches focus on.

MCG is a perfect example of the flaws in junior footy. How can a bloke go through a junior career without a coach teaching him to kick. His technique is shocking. As for his pace, it won't ever be good but he doesn’t even run properly. It’s hard to change adult’s techniques but it’s much easier to change kids.

His kicking isn't as bad as you guys make out. He can still have pot shots at goal from 55m out and make the distance for example.

Not saying his accuracy is great but people do tend to over exagerate.

Shane Woewoedin pulls these numbers pretty much every week for the 2nd worst WAFL team there is. Atleast he cud kick the ball a bit.

By now neither. MCG was a great ball winner from day 1 but his speed and kicking are still as bad. Too late for improvement IMO given he’s been in the system 4 or 5 years. Surely the coaches have tried and tried. No one gives up on genuine ball winners like him without a serious effort. 2 or 3 tears ago I was hopeful a bit of running and kicking technique training might improve his pace and foot skills. Unfortunately it’s probably too late now. If Luke Ball can’t play for a period MCG probably has a role to play but short of that I can’t see him on St. Kilda’s list next year and in that case he’d be out of the AFL altogether I would think.

Should have played in the 2002 GF :(
I agree. Word was he was dead on his feet by that stage of his first year which wouldn’t be unusual. He couldn’t have been in worse nick than Molloy though.

Similar loping gait to Heath Shaw, but Heater is quite quick.
I reckon Heath has longer legs. It’s still got me beat how he moves as quickly as he does though. He’s no Judd but he’s a heck of a lot faster than he looks. When he jogs you’d think he couldn’t run out of sight on a dark night to quote Lou Richards.

Amazingly unacountable footballer. Just does nothing the other way. If he was to play this week, Laidley would send a half dangerous midfielder his way and his man would be a lock in to get at least 20 and they would be a shiitload more damaging that 35 of McGough's.

We would only lose by 100 points. It would be awesome.

Saints lose Thompson, Peckett, and perhaps Powell this year. McGough will get his chance next season in a Thompson/Powell type role.

Didn't mention Harvey in case anyone thought I was saying McGough will take Harveys place.

he should play NOW

You might be over estimating Laidley there.

Now now, let's not mix things up. He may have lost the players, he may be a lunatic and he may be encouraging rubbish football but he is a good match day coach.

Can't do much else right ATM, but he knows his shiit on match day.
