:)Sure have Rayzor...who else would take guys like Breman, Blurton, Jackson and Humm off their hands????

Morton makes up for many of them Goldie...and we got some revenge with Merenda(?) :thumbsu:

Geez, there was some ancient history I'd much rather forget in there...though Humm I could understand...just another bargain basement attempt at getting the running HBF's we sorely lacked.

Very average ruckman and would definitely not trade for him.

I don't see the point in trading for a ruck when we already have the stocks in Browne/Vickery/Graham. We may as well keep Simmonds because Seaby isn't going to give us much more. Definite pas.

Have to be a deal like the Saints got King for (very late pick), or - far more likely - a player swap. We generally have a good trade relationship with the WCE, so might have an edge there.

Having said that, we certainly won't be his only suitors because the ruck stocks across the AFL as a whole are abysmal ATM. I'm sure half a dozen clubs minimum would have loved to have him on their list this year, and not just for depth purposes. He'll probably be the most discussed player (as in by the most number of sides) during trade week.

I can see a use for him RT...but I suspect we'll be outbidded and that's OK...he's far from essential to our short or long term needs.
What I was getting at was if he doesn't get traded during trade week and puts himself in the draft then if we're going to cut as many players as we're supposed to, why not take a punt on him with a pick around the 5th round. Don't want to enter a bidding war for him, but if we can somehow get him with a late pick when there is nothing better available then why not.

Just because he's tall doesn't mean he's any good. Have you even seen Seaby play, RT? One of the worst players going around in the AFL. You wonder why they play a 5th gamer over him. West Coast fans are begging for any team at all to take this spud off their hands, literally begging. We will once again be the laughing stock of the AFL if we pick him up.

Straight swap for JON, nothing more. I thought people would've learned that trading for shit players is one of the reasons why we're in this mess. Why don't we just develop our own for once FFS!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I have seen him play. Seaby gets labelled as terrible because his teammate is Cox a bloke who just happens to have been the best ruckman in the game for the last 4-5 years. I remember people used to rate Darren Jolly as a spud when he ran around for the Dees behind Jeff White yet when he went to the Swans and was given the number 1 job he became a very good ruckman. Seaby might be a similar type and if we're going to cut as many players as reports suggest then getting a bloke who stands 200cm weighs 100kgs and has 100 games of experience playing second fiddle to Cox for a pick past the 5th round wouldn't be the dumbest thing this club has ever done. If we had of traded a second round pick for him last year that would have been stupidity. Spending pick 60+ on him isn't, especially if it allows us to play Vickery elsewhere.

No thanks i've seen enough of mark seaby to know i don't want him playing for richmond. I'm happy to watch our young players develop playing the ruck unless we get offered sandilands for a 3rd round pick.

After seeing the improvement in Angus graham after the last off-season i'd like to see how he goes after another off-season. Also vickery and Browne can only get better as they get bigger. I don't know too much about putt more of a forward than a ruckman but you never know. As for patto I just wish his skill matched his effort.

Still worth a look IMO , With Mummy and Pyke may be tempted by an opportunity to be a number 1 ruckman elsewhere

At 27, he'd need to come pretty cheap IMO. Sydney gave up pick 22 for him a few years ago. I'd be even wary about giving up a 2nd rounder for him in a compromised draft. The risk is, that if you give up say a 2nd rounder for him now, and for some reason he doesn't come off... in hindsight, it will look like another shortcut taken, giving away another valuable trade pick.

On another note, don't you think he looks like....

Seaby or Blake or both would b a good move imo they should come cheap and would b a massive improvement on browne and gus :thumbsu:

Just a note...dont rate ruckmen on the basis of what they did against us.
At the end of the day, his wish was granted and he was off to Sydney to be their 1 or 2. Now we are going to give him a chance at club no 3? Dudes..we are getting to be ridiculous. ;)

I think you could get him for a second/third round pick in 2011.

Have to take into account must clubs have ruckman stocks a plenty so the demand is not there.

He is only a stop gap measure to argue assist development of mids. Otherwise continue on and target young quaiity in the next 3 years. I think in the next 3 years we will probably target a quality Ruck like Gundy, Lounder or whoever anyway in 2011-2014 anyway possibly through a GC trade etc... even if we got Seaby as he won't help us in our premiership ambitions! For example if we get 10 in this years draft we might be able to swap for 5 or whatever with a player etc.. to GWS to get Lounder or whoever. Point is their are plenty of options for us and we should wait something to fall our way on good terms instead of jumping in and cutting our nose of despite our face in terms of paying overs!! As others have said we don't want to be waiting 10 years so we need to do things smart in terms of getting things that do not cost us an arm and leg!

We can't be wasting good draft picks on temp stop gap rucks though!!

Alternatively Derrix might come on a little in which case we wasted another draft pick!!!

We are not completely barren as Vick will be in the team and hopefully Griff can be used sparingly

Quick ring up the excorcist..;)

We don't need a cheap and nasty fix. We have the room in the salary cap what we need to do is go buy a proven horse along the lines of what Collingwood and Geelong did while the others continue to develop. No one out of scope. Yes it makes that much difference especially now with the sub rule. Look at the difference in sides when rucks are in and on form.....Fremantle/Sandilands, West Coast /Cox Natanui, Collingwood/ Jolly, Geelong /Ottens, Sydney/Mumford , Melbourne /Jamar and the list goes on. The teams with poor rucks or unavailable ones just happen to be St Kilda, Richmond, Port, Adelaide, Brisbane ...theres a pattern forming. Ryder and Hille fire and the Bombers beat Geelong, they don't and got beaten by us. Look at teh difference in Melb before and after Jamar.

Our prospects are reasonable in Gus, Browne and Derryx but we will be ******ing the development of the rest of the team not to supplement with a damn good one ready to go in 2012. Can't afford a maybe like Seaby may as well stick with Gus

I would rather go through a trans-gender operation without an anaesthetic than see Seaby play for us.

What a load of ****ing rubbish this is. Seriously, the absolute distaste that the Swans fans have for this hunk of junk is enough for anyone (inc. a DVFL side) to stay well away from.

:thumbsd:

Should of done more to get him last time and the fact we still have a chance is a god send. He'd be a way better option than Blake who is a niffy whose team mates don't even like him.

Pick of the bunch would be Hampson. Proved he can play recently. Need to do something.

I am not aware of any 'absolute distaste' amongst the Swans fans towards Seaby.

Spot on there roo stew. A top class ruckman would bring our side on in leaps and bounds. Seaby would be an small incremental step at best. Would be a waste of time.
