It's worth watching just to see

1) The broad with the moustache
2) To count how many times they highlight an aboriginal player who isn't actually aboriginal
3) To see Ronnie Burns looking like he just came from court.

I watch this show every week on NITV, and it's great. In fact, this week I watched it twice. The boys know their footy and have a good mix of guests on the panel. This week for instance, they had Ron Barrassi, and although you could tell that father time was catching up with him, he still had a great deal of interesting input. He raised some very important topics for discussion.

For the poster who said that Ronnie Burns looks like he just came from court, you are a racist. Ronnie is a star - always has been and always will be. He actually speaks very well on the show and knows a fair bit about the game, as you would imagine from an indigenous player who topped the goal kicking at Geelong several times. If you haven't watched the show, you might be interested to know that they remind us of this every week.

The thing which I like most about this footy show is that they realise the influence aboriginal AFL players have on Aboriginal kids, and there is a lot of emphasis on helping out young Aboriginals, especially those who live in communities. Sometimes, they can get a bit carried away talking about young Aboriginal kids, and sometimes as mentioned they talk up kids who aren't even aboriginal, but it is interesting to see the game from their perspective.

It's not nearly as entertaining as the mainstream 'Footy show', and doesn't nearly have as many quality guests, but it's still a good watch.

Ps. The broad with the moustache is actually Derek Kickett. :D

Why exactly am I a racist? It has nothing to do with him being Aboriginal, he looks like he just came from court because he is one of those people who doesn't look comfortable in a suit. Like a lot of players on The Footy Show, he just never looks good in a suit and you can tell that when they are on TV is one of the very rare times they will actually wear one. Luke Hodge is a prime example of this.

it's a pretty good show, my highlights are Allan Thorpe who epitomizes the term "Journeyman" and how the other boys always pick on Gilly McAdem(i think) and his Alice springs accent that they can't understand!

I assume you know that Ronnie didnt tip Geelong once to win last year.

He was just one of many who had been let down too many times in the past. Also, in his own amazing way, he was trying to keep a lid on things. :)

The club let him down? We kept him on the list despite his mediocre performances (Some brilliant ones there). And his list of off field indiscretions a lot evolved around alcohol. We then traded him to the crows (the club he wanted) paid out his contract and got a half eaten mars bar (Finnin).

He can't blame the Geelong Football Club for anything. Had he had not rolled his car (while drinking) he probably would have got longer on their list.

The club did everything for him to succeed. (Sorry i do realise this is the Essendon board, but JEEZ!)

DW About that mate, BBC is drawing one of the longest strings around here with that comment.

And yes, the Marngrook footy show is good for what its worth. It's great to see an aboriginal perspective on the game considering some of the best players are aboriginal!
