as for talbot's ground yes it has improved on last years efforts but there is obviously still a fair bit of work that needs to be done. In regards to the training side of things friday nigth's effort was backed up by an equally impressive hit out last night, with some good numbers and a solid workout. Prickles has brought alot of experience into the club and is really on top of his game at the moment.:thumbsu:

A fair bit of movement on the clearance front over the last few days. The 2 of note are Ramsey from Newstead to Castlemaine and Butch Kennedy from Dunolly to Rovers.

Rovers keep getting better and better each week, fev signed on fri night after a meeting with some of the old boys! Any more to come?

Will Handles be joining Fev back at Rovers??? I think Jayden Hind and Butch Kennedy will go well for Rovers.

from the word i have , fev is definately a starter for rover and handles is very unlikely, at this stage it is maryborough on the cards, rumour has it for a fair old sum too...$950 yes $950, thats a bucket load of cash and meant to be true by all reports, especially when he was getting $800 a week for coaching duties at clunes....But yes rovers seem to be signing well and looking for that flag...
 
I heard on the grapevine that Ash Rob maybe looking for a new club this season with Talbot being his likely destination.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

Haven't heard that one Shamui. Who does he know at Talbot??? I'm a bit out of the loop these days so no idea if Talbot have spoken to him.

If Rovers get Handles expect them to challenge for the flag. I must admit I had heard of the Maryborough rumour too Sherman. We shall see. Rovers would have to be running out of dosh as they have been splashing it around. Hind on a bit, Kennedy would be on a bit, Fev would have got some + their current players. Only goes so far.

Maryborough are hoping to sign up handles. He has starting training there. The dollar figure being thrown up would be what rovers were offering him ... not Maryborough.

The season is shaping up as Rovers, Maldon, Harcourt, Brook, Talbot and Avoca (not in that particular order) being the dominant teams for 2008. Who of those six do others think will miss out on the final five? Can anyone see any challenges from the clubs not mentioned?

Heard about it the other night Rich. Seemed as though it was a bit of heresay at the time, just thought somebody else may have heard the same.

You reckon this could be the last year they will stand alone Simo???

Seems a bit silly to to drain the coffers before a potential merger...... You want to be able to hit the ground running if it happens that Bushy and Rovers merge. We shall see.

I honestly cant see any other sides challenging for a top 5 spot. Newstead will fall as I see Ramsey etc is leaving. I dont think any other side will jump up too much this year. I expect to see some improvement from Dunolly. Bushy will drop off. Creek and Trentham are unknowns but you would expect them to struggle. An interesting season ahead.

Apparantly this is the case, they have a commite set up and everything, bush are pretty well broke and rovers have some cash so wanted one year to have a crack and spend up and go into the merger equal.
This is what I have heard anyway...

Have heard that Ash Rob is not playing football this year. Spends most of his days on the text machine and at nights cuddles up to his beloved kitten. The only destination will be the love boat.;)
 
Hey there. Um just wondering if anyone knows a guy called Seamus McKinley?? I think he played for Carisbrook. Just wondering how did he go as a footballer... Cheers
 
i dont know where you've got your info from simo, i can guarantee you that

A) there is no committee set up for a merger
B) bushy are not broke
C) the committee at bushy of balzan grogan and the likes will not go down without a fight if anything does happen. if they're around, i doubt anything will happen.
