Also there is a young guy named Alex Howson who was subbed on at half time and proceeded to kick 4 goals 1 behind for the sharks in this game. He is a KPF and may be worth keeping an eye on - I personally know his father who is a big Freo fan.

While I was once a Bulldogs hopefull most of my senior football was played in the wheatbelt. Nobody ever got reported that I can remember but a lot of things were settled behind the tin shed after the game I can recall our paid captain/coach not keeping his appointment behind the shed and another player had to sub for him. Not surprisingly when he turned up the next week he was handed a blank signed transfer form.

But that's all beside the point. If as is alleged Mason Shaw has been felled illegally and behind the play I believe the penalty should apply as follows :

Time out actually injured 12 weeks
Time training until cleared 6 weeks
Time for the actual offence 8 weeks
Total suspension 26 weeks

Basically it should be a suspension for a full season.

But we now have to wait and see if anything did actually happen. It's all circumstantial at the moment.

During training Freo's football coaches spent much time pulling him aside and explaining team drills. They obviously think he has a future at AFL level. For his age he is definatly a big bodied player.

If he gets done for it he should be rubbed out for 6-10 weeks. I hate off the ball shit like that.

Howson has to step up a lot this year at colts level for EF.

He actually trained with both Freo and WCE this preseason, this year the AIS wa kids trained with both sides.

My understanding this is from souths point of view was Mason was mouthing of pretty bad by his own admission, then Mitch Brown whacked him.

Mitch didn't think he had hit him that bad just got him in the right spot.

Personally believe Mitch will get six weeks for this once the investigation is complete being no video may help him though.

As for Mason he could slip to either of our clubs if he misses the championships, would be funny if he and Mitch brown ended up on the same team.

Is a very good talent though just hope this doesn't effect his confidence.

Not surprising, young key forward generally are cocky, and Mitch Brown is a struggler at AFL level. Would be an easy target for smart arse comments. Guess he pushed the right buttons.

Not condoning it but sounds like big mouth ,Glass jaw syndrome. Can imagine as 17yo, 195+cm, 90kg+ CHF can get away with saying anything he wants in the junior days and that jaw has never been tested. That and being not ready for a hit could have contributed.
