FTA-TV Masterchef Season 18

Couldn't find a thread for the current season of Masterchef and I'm not surprised.

I wasn't going to watch Masterchef this year, especially because of how long the season goes for. But I changed my mind.

I'm not enjoying it. They have dumbed it down. They’re catering to the social media audience with the influencer and viral components. And someone won an Immunity pin last week from a Sandwich challenge!!
Last night they had the World Cuisine Challenge and the hidden ingredient that had to be featured for the selected Country was just so obvious and not challenging at all.

There also haven't been any pressure tests so far, which is disappointing.

I'll stick with it for now and hope that it improves.

I've enjoyed it more this year than the last couple of years. I don't find most of the contestants as obnoxious as usual. I can relate more to the simpler foods at this stage, but hope they begin to up their game soon.
