if nothing else, it shows what a fine line there is between perceived failure and progress.

Even during our recent very poor form I still firmly believed we were on track overall. Unless we have a bad run with injuries I believe we will play final next year.

Dare I say it, I think I'd rather finish with some honourable losses and a draft pick closer to top 10. That said, Melbourne and to a lesser extent Roos are both quite winnable games.

Mate...they are all potentially rough diamonds...does'nt matter who we draft...

Probably, yes.

I'm more concerned about what the difference between pick 10 and, say, pick 16.

We're currently looking at pick 12, but could drop back below the Crows (pick 10), and we're half a game behind Dogs, and 4 points behind Demons but with slightly better %. If we beat the Demons this week, we'll go ahead of them (up to pick 14). Dogs have Port away, which you'd think they'd win.
