Wasn't sure where to put this but the VFL report from the weekend

Matt Arnot
1 goal, 30 disposals, 6 clearances, 5 tackles

Was very good offensively. Probably the best link game he’s played for us this season, he brought others into the game. Still needs to improve on the defensive side of his game but we’ve been working on that

Find it odd that they say he needs to work on his defensive side of his game when he averages 6 tackles a game which is the 2nd most of tigers this year. How many of the rest of the squad needs to work on the defensive side if thats the case?

Poor bloke is probably confused as. When he plays defensive apparently he doesn't get enough of the ball and when he gets enough of the ball he isn't defensive enough

Spot on. I thought the exact same thing when reading this. I thought he was dropped because he wasn't getting enough of the pill.

I would say defensive running, positioning is what they mean.

Is this why we have sports psychologists at the club?

Should be suitably pissed off that O'Hanlon got selected instead of him this week. Played well in the VFL and recorded 29 more touches than O'Hanlon from what I can tell.... I think we really are tanking now...

Biscuits has come into the side with Mattie Thomas (Achilles) withdrawing and Helbig the new emergency.

If that is true about Arnot, that is great to hear - hope he starts and gets a full game (same as O'Hanlon). Never great to see an injury to a player but I'm kind of happy if Thomas misses out for Arnot!

I really hope tweet is correct and Matty gets a run...
Also - really hope he gets an extended run for the rest of the year.

Have a gut feeling that he can come on and become a regular midfield contested grunt player.

Hardwick will play him at half forward again then drop him after he fails to get leather poisoning, only lays 15 tackles and a peforms a dozen or so pressure acts. "Sorry son but you're no Shaun Grigg." he'll explain.

Nooooooooooo! Now that Thomas is out, he'll have to play in the middle for parts of the game at the very least....
