I agree that Knights will coach us in 2011 and the expectations will and should be finals. Anything less after 4 years is nothing less than abject failure - by any measure. However, if we tank the rest of the year and get belted by Collingwood and Bulldogs (completely feasible) then I personally think his position will come under serious scrutiny at years end. Similarly, if we are sitting 12th or thereabouts in first third-half of next season then I also think serious questions will be asked. It promises to be a big off season for the Bombers.

I don't usually get too involved in the rumour hysteria, but felt compelled to post again in this thread. I'm not fussed whether people think I have good sources or not, but I can guarantee you some facts regarding this thread.

I have heard Knight's will be coaching in 2011, but he is contracted until 2012 so that's not really breaking news.

I believe Stanton will not be playing for the Gold Coast in 2011. He will remain in Melbourne and will play either at Essendon, North Melbourne or Collingwood, but he is 95% likely to remain at Essendon. Despite Robbo saying today it's about figures, it's more about a 3 year deal rather than 2.

I have also heard that Laycock and another player (rookie) who has an ongoing injury concern have already fronted the playing group and advised them they will not continue with Essendon in 2011.

Oh and I am not sure why Essendon would be debuting a rookie this week when they are apparently set to be delisted! Surely Crameri wouldn't be debuting and getting a farewell game in the same week??
