I would say his arm isnt 100% , he just doesnt have the confidence in his marking at the moment. Add that to some of the poor delivary he is getting and he looks bad.
What does ******** me though are all you ass clowns who want to get on his case. Sure he isnt going well now but he has given us more than just about any player on our list in the last 8 years. Pull your heads in you turkeys if he has one bad year he will still have done more than 80% of the players going around.
Last year everyone wanted trade MJ after he had a bad year , look how that has turned out. Back to his best again this year.
Lloydy suffered a serious injury for a player who relies on marking , it will take time for him to get back to what he was.
Some of the young brigade just have to learn that you canot expect to be at the top year after year. Everyteam goes though a low patch at some stage , you young lot need to appreciate the fact we dont seem to stay in it as long as others.

Would be crazy to drop him, even in career worst form. Especially with the Dogs coming up, whom he likes playing against.

Sheedy needs to fire him up somehow though.

He doesn't seem to be able to put any distance between himself and his defender on the lead anymore. Very rarely gets in a position to take an easy mark. I noticed this last season too, and i'm not sure how to explain it because i doubt he's lost any pace.

He'll turn it around though, no doubt, he's too good not to.

You dont drop talent like a Lloyd. He is struggling no doubt but he can turn it around he is too good a player not to.

I have to admit all the sooking to the umps and constant falling to ground in one on one contests is starting to get to me.

No way, even when he isn't playing well, the opposition have to put a good player on him just in case he finds form.

Once his arm is healed, he'll be playing like Matty of old.

There is no way Lloyd should be dropped! Hes not going to find form in the VFL and it would be a travesty to see him there. Like Marcuz said his staging for frees is also starting to annoy me. He is a champ and i hope this slump comes to an end soon.

DOnt think it has much to do with the arm but to me he appears to have lost a yard of pace over the last year or 2. When on the lead his opponent is constantly right on his tail and he is never able to put space between himself and th fullback. He is also outmuscled and outmarked constantly when he tries to go body on body.

As Ive stated on many occassions he should not be our next captain as he lacks certain leadership qualities. Heres hoping Lloydy returns to some form quickly as we really need him.

MAKE MCPHEE NEXT CAPTAIN! he would be a 8-10 year captain for the club and has all the makings of a successful captain.

Lloyd's acting as captain, acting as a full forward and acting like a footballer - he's taken the word acting too far, he needs to pull his finger out and start performing, otherwise we should drop him and that'd send the message to evryone and we might start winning. That said that'd endanger our chance of a top draft pick and we wouldn't want to do that would we?

OMG Essendon supporters having a go at one of their own......you guys are spot on though, he needs to concentrate on leading and marking, not on staging for frees. As soon as he feels contact to his back he falls forward. Im just hoping he doesnt find form this week. lol, Harris should be to quick for him anyway.

Don't worry Bomber fans, we'll run the rat into form. He loves lining up against us.

I don't know what his odds will be for leading goal kicker of the round next week , but i will certainly be having a decent wager on him.

I know, we're turning into Bitchmond supporters and to be honest it's starting to ******** me off.

All our players are above criticism are they?

We lavish praise on them when they do well and I see nothing wrong in pointing out flaws in their games when they play poorly.

Too much negativity is bad I admit but lets not all go to far the other way and turn into sycophants.

dropping matthew lloyd would be stupid!!!!!!!! even though he is in career worst form he still attracts the oppositions better defenders giving Laycock and other less known players more mobility with the non-best defender

And that sums it up. Very well said !!!!

These clowns calling for Lloyd to be dropped make me embarassed to be an Essendon supporter.

Lloydy is playing terribly at the moment but there is no way in the world that he should be dropped. He takes the best defender plus another usually, so that frees up other players.
I was watching him closely at the game on saturday night and he was really protecting his arm and also was trying to mark everything on his chest. I'm thinking his arm is still very sore.

Drop him. We're screwed for the rest of the season anyway. So let him get back into some form and let the young guns do it. Bendigo dont have any real key forwards anyway :P

Sheedy would never drop Lloyd.

But is it finally time to drop Sheedy - aren't you sick of him yet???!

Ive had enough of him to be honest.

All the winning seasons, finals appearances, Grand final appearances and premierships these last 25 years have driven me to loathe the man with a head like an irish spud.

The guy is a joke. He deserves to be in this form if he dives everytime he goes near the ball. In previous years he knew how to do it well and went for marks when he could but now he is just weak. I wouldnt have him as a captain because of his attitude, I mean compare him to other captains and he doesn't stack up. I agree Adam McPhee should be the next captain.
