Matthew Wade retiring from red ball cricket

Surprised nobody else has commented. He did play 35 Tests, so he's not a nobody.

Personally, I found him to be a frustrating player, as much as Mitch Marsh and John Dyson were, if not moreso.

During his first stint, he was an acceptable lower-order counterpuncher, but his keeping against spin was substandard. During his second stint, his keeping was actually acceptable, but he had forgotten how to bat. During his third stint, he was a combative but limited middle-order batsman.

But I'd never question his commitment to the cause, and he'll always have that "NIIIIIIICE GA-RAY!" moment.

Wish him well in retirement.

Had an underwhelming test career, unfortunately. He was a bit better than what he showed in that format. His experience will be missed in the Shield though
