Been reading through a few threads about players coming out of contract. Thought id ask everyones opinion. I think Pav will stay with us but hypothetically if he said he was leaving and obviously that would be to either of the adelaides teams. What would you want in return for him? ie draft picks/players

P.S - Dont get me wrong on this it is all hypothetical, i want him to stay and i think he will.

Junior Burger + 1st Rounder...

Pav would be in the top 3 players for cost to trade, alongside Brown and Judd. We'd expect nothing less than probably 1 excellent player (probably a fast midfielder) and 2 top 10 draft picks i'd say... but yeah, Pav will stay.

Everyone been throwing around possible trades for Judd at the moment so thought id see what we all thought about Pav.

If he comes out of contract we don't get anything except relief on our salary cap, if he wants to go to a particular club then maybe.
Port didn't get much when they lost Josh Carr to us.

It would cost a LOT for a club to try and trade for Pavlich, for a team lower down on the ladder looking to build through draft picks and playing the kids it probably wouldn't be worth it. He won't leave Freo anyway so it's all hypothetical.

Still, I always love it when you discuss trades like Judd and Pav with opposition fans, and the offers they give you are always like "I'll trade anyone on our list except for [Insert top 5 players here]". You have to trade quality to get quality, and that why we're unlikely to see a trade for Judd and Pavlich.

Josh Carr is no Pavlich... Carr is a great player but he wont win you a game like Pav could.

What about a straight swap.. Pav for Judd. I'm sure both sides would feel absolutely robbed.. but there would be the possibility both sides would come out better than they are now :)

Pav saying to a group of Fremantle supporters at his pub that he is staying doesn't mean a lot. If we miss the eight he'll probably go home. If we do miss the eight we want port and the crows to finish in the top ten so that they have to give us a fair deal.

The problem with the crows and port is that they have very few players we would want. When deals are considered for Judd there are quality West Aussies playing for Victorian clubs (Franklin, Kennedy, Ryder, Wells etc) that could be used as part of a deal, but I can't think of anyone in Adelaide who we would want and who would want to move to Perth. Something along the lines of picks 3, 10 and 15 would be reasonably fair, then trade 2 of our 4 first round picks for a quality player, and draft 2 kids with the others. Hopefully it is all just hypothetical though. :(

Not that I think it would happen but you could see a three way trade then between the Blues (for example for Kennedy) to Freo, Pavlich to SA club and SA club's players to Blues.

IMO Pavlich would never have accepted the captaincy if he was going to leave after 1 year of being the Captain. He wont leave but good to see everyone has the same opinion as i do that there is no one in the 2 adelaide sides we would want.
