Should he be our permanent kick-in?

I reckon he is already our best long kick and he is a much better prospect than Thornton because I can never trust him with the ball and we shouldn't be wasting Gibbsy up back when he could be used as a transition in the centre square when we are kicking out.

He will be once he's cemented a spot in the team. Even then though it doesn't hurt to change it up a bit to avoid becoming too predictable, Yarran did a pretty good job against Collingwood.

I love the fact that Yarran has no hesitation in playing on from the kick in and then kicking long. Gains so much ground even if it goes to a 50/50. I've hated how it previously had been team directive to automatically kick short into the pocket, just so our team had control of the ball.

Love the playing on, keep it up regardless of the kick taker.

Is Yarran the best target hitter over 50 meters in our team at the moment? Yarran has some of the best vision I have seen on the footy field.

His field kicking is, in general, very very good. But it looks even better because he's got that crazy speed to get into the clear and evasiveness to get a kick off when others would be cornered.

I think Watson is out best target hitter over 200m though.

As silly as it sounds, I think that Watson could nearly take the mantle after only two games. He's certainly our best target hitter over 60 meters.

..if he's closest and there's a fast break yes.. ..otherwise, no.. ..would rather he be the primary target of the designated point kicker.. ..get him free 40m out, and then he can kick it towards our F50 from there..

I'm pretty sure the other team would have a say with that tactic....

Yes he is a nice long kick, but too many people are seriously overrating his boot. He's a 2 game rookie guys.

That appeared to be the game plan against Collingwood. He didn't take many kick ins himself.

I agree with whoever it was that said that we wont see the same person take the kick every time. I'm perfectly happy for Watson to be one of the guys who does take the kicks for us though.

From this year so far, I like seeing Jammo and Yazz taking the kick ins. .. but happy to have anyone from our back 6 taking them. .. Its good that we've got a heap of decent kicking defenders now. .. I'm glad players like Yazz are showing the value of playing on from the kick out when the options are low. ..

Edit: Watson looked good too, imagine what he is going to be like once he gets a bit of experience and more composure. .. Seems to have a great footy nous. .. Always preferred footballers to athletes, better when you can have both though ;)
