Inspired by Rizzo, and the success and accuracy of his tipping site, I have created a blog of my own, to be run mainly on sports betting.

http://mattysvaluebets.blogspot.com/

Matty's Value Bets will offer just that, Value bets on sporting events from around the world.

I have a few bets up already, and will also add some special segments and posts about sporting events over the coming days.

Every tip I place on this site, I will have some of my hard earned cash on, and I do my research before placing any bet at all.

It is a site based on gambling though, so no guarantees exist, but I intend to provide some people out there with an outlet to find some good value sporting tips on a regular basis.

Feel free to suggest any improvements or anything you would like to see on the site, but please go easy on the presentation, it is simple and straight forward because the tips are what the site is all about.

Good luck to anyone who follows my tips.:)

Good luck!!

Thank's Rizzo, if I'm half as accurate as you, I'll be happy and making some profit for my potential followers.

For those interested in the Champions League tomorrow morning, I just placed 2 bets up, along with my suggested Multi for tomorrow.

Take a look if you want, feel free to take whatever action you want regarding my tips.:)

Good luck Mattys123. I however have gone all in must win on Fiorentina to get the upset before i reload my account. I just thought Fiorentina really really wants to finish top of their group for a good draw in UEFA cup whereas it would mean much more to Liverpool to be ready for Arsenal this weekend. Also Fiorentina players apparently have taken their families on the trip and noone wants to lose in front of their family. Didnt know about injuries however. Best of luck with your tips blog, ill have a look and see how you go.

Got there by the skin of your teeth!!!

Just placed an NHL bet of the day up, backing the Colorado Avalanche straight out for the win at 1.80, seems a good bet, plus the game is televised on FOX, which makes it more fun.:thumbsu:

After a rather frustrating and unsuccessful start to my site, I have decided to do more research before adding tips from now on.

After doing research on weather, playing patterns, injuries and ground location for the 3rd test between Pakistan and New Zealand I have added a new bet to the blog.

Basically it's Pakistan straight out to win the 3rd test, as the weather seems to be pretty good for the 5 days, although I doubt the test will last that long anyway.

Shop around for the best odds like always, but don't accept anything under 2.70.

A team could be showing $1.70 but in his mind they should be a $1.50, therefore he thinks he is getting over the odds, therefore it being value
fair enough, personally i would just call that overs rather than value. Value to me would be tipping a long shot to get up at odds, but overs still constitutes some value i guess.

Sports betting is a bit like that though, especially tennis, AFL, Soccer etc... Anything over $2 that you think will win is decent value..

Just put my NFL best bets up for the week.

Took Carolina as an outsider, hoping that Brady doesnt play.

San Diego odds seem too good to ignore.

A little multi too.:)

Just placed my first weekly "Profit/Loss Statement" up on the blog.

I am in this for the long term, and while the 1st week didn't start off too well, it did end ok with a few nice returns.

Also placed 2 "value bets" up for the Test Match between Australia and the Windies starting tomorrow.

Best of luck to all.:)

Best of luck mate with what you post, but my only observation after your first week is the spread of sports you've punted on - Cricket (home and o/seas), Soccer (home, EPL, Champions League), Golf (home and o/seas), NFL, NHL, NBA.

I (personally) wager to make money. I've come to the realisation that to do just that, you have to have either a tangible edge or superior knowledge on what your betting on than the majority of the people you are betting against. To do that (I've) got to divest or focus as much of my energies in the one area - WA Racing in my case with a smattering (16-18% p.a. as a rule) on AFL/NRL/AUS Cricket.

My reasoning is I've got finite resources (let's call them energies or brain cells) and the thinner I spread these resources, the less my advantage can possibly be.

Good luck again on making a dollar in the long term, hopefully it's not luck you're relying on.

I think that was a problem in the first week, placing bets on sports I really don't follow to a great extent (NBA and NHL are the standouts).

I am an avid NFL fan, and have had very good success each week with the NFL, including landing a few multis at good odds.

I probably thought I had to add something each day to the blog, but have now come to the realization like you suggested, that I should "stick to" the areas that I have more specific knowledge of.

Because it is AFL off season too, it is hard to bet every day on sports, so maybe Cricket, NFL, A-League and EPL may become my focus leading into the AFL season.

It's one thing to place bets and make profits like I have been for a while, it's another to actually turn that into a site/blog that makes a profit, as I am also not going to place every bet I place on that site. (Too much info basically).

I welcome any criticism or advice, as I am still fine tuning, and I encourage all to follow my blog, even if you aren't placing your hard earned on it, because eventually I will find the form and structure I need to transfer my abilities as a "sports gambler" into a somewhat successful tipping service.

Thanks for the advice.:)

I'm on board Matty - your NFL tips have been huge when I've seen them. Lets see if you can salvage my year (obviously not following you)

Thanks mate, my early tip for next week's NFL round is a bloody early one, it's for the Monday night game, between Washington and New York.

At the moment, they are offering a $2.05 line of -3.0 for New York, that seems too good to be true, and will surely blow out over time.

New York need to win next week, or their season is all but over, if they win, they will be tied with the Cowboys (if they lose to NO) for the last wildcard in the NFC, setting up a massive final 2 weeks in the NFC.

Think they will win easy, even though the Skins have been competitive recently against the better teams.

Wasn't giving advice at all - just making observations and relating back to (my) personal learnings.

It's one thing to place bets and make profits like I have been for a while, it's another to actually turn that into a site/blog that makes a profit, as I am also not going to place every bet I place on that site. (Too much info basically).

I find this (personally) hard to fathom. If you are making profits in the real world/currently/in your world - then the difference between the current situation and the future situation (where your blog exists) is absolutely zero.

I'm just trying to say that from an absolute profit/loss point of view, my real account betting and actual bets are not going to be all published on the site, or else the site wouldn't be a "value bet" site, it would be a straight out sports betting site where even the short priced bets I lay (and there are a few) would be displayed.

I started this blog with the intention of giving people a guide towards the best value bets of a particular day or week, rather then following a system like the one I use to make a successful return from gambling.

One example of this is I published one NFL multi on the blog this week, when in fact I placed 7 multis in total on the NFL round of matches, with 2 smaller ones successful and making me a profit.

I heard a very interesting statement once when discussing some juicy odds on a particular sporting contest "good value, a bet is only good value if it wins". This was from the head guy a Centrebet.

Im taking the Tottenham rebound and the Arsenal / Chelsea / Liverpool multi.

We love playing against City, but this year is obviously different.

Hopefully Modric will start, but even if he does Ill be taking us +0.5, think a 1-1 or 2-2 draw could be on the cards.

Spurs vs City.....don't even try to analyse that game.....no way to know what's going to happen.....just flip a coin for it.

Interesting take on things. Another saying I've heard (generally from the blokes that happily bounce from board to board in the TAB looking for ''safe'' $1.60 favourites across all states) is ''you can't eat value'' or ''value won't feed the wife and kids''.

If I can keep finding $2.10 about the result of a coin-toss (50/50) day-in-day-out, these losers can jam their sayings up their khybers.....
