Have you read what you have contributed?

Anyone can go to practice sessions including accessing parts of the buildings and see what King is up to (noting work is also done away from the Club)

To put that the Club has provided and deliberately provided false information in regard King’s injury, rehabilitation and return to play is juvenile nonsense of the first order

Bear in mind the journey of Max King as an individual
I am talking about the whole two-year period. We were clearly lied to last year in particular. Stav has also said that we have been lied to in recent weeks. I don't think the club's lack of honesty is really in dispute.

I don't dispute the reports that he is tracking well at the moment.

Are you seriously saying that Max King is not injured, he’s just not fit to play football? FMD
Relax buddy, to me, conditioning is not an injury , he hasn't played a match in 2 years. Plenty of times players come off the injury lists and entered a training block.

Everything points to him coming back. Soon.

How will he play? Who knows?

How long will he play before missing with injury? Once again; who knows?

But he is, from all reports, tracking towards a comeback and that’s all I’m interested in.

2 weeks, TBCs, conditionings, lies etc aren’t worth worrying about when an onfield appearance is on the horizon.

2 weeks away. All going according to plan.......
Wonder if it’s similar to when he was “touch and go” for round 1… last year.

Only time will tell!
Free update? They have a responsibility to members and the afl to maintain an accurate injury list.
Geelong got criticised for it last year, the AFL are meant to be coming down harder on clubs that aren’t honest with injuries. I’d like to see clubs getting fined for doing what St Kilda have done.

It’s one thing to have TBC when a player hasn’t had scans yet, or hasn’t had surgery yet - but to have TBC for 4 months straight is a disgrace.
The Geelong situation was VASTLY different to this and frankly isn’t remotely comparable.

I criticize the saints for much (most) of what we’ve done in my soon to be 39 years of supporting them and they’ve made a lot of mistakes with Max but the current messaging around his return is not one of them.

If you want to go down the Geelong track then what about player welfare and mental health? How do you reckon it was for Max having it be close to return so many times only for it to fall apart and have peanuts like me giving him shit.

That’s before you add given how many times he’s broken down during the final conditioning phase that the club may genuinely not have an end date on it to ensure it can be done gradually.

TBC is the right call and if anything they should have done it sooner.

Forgive me if I'm skeptical.

I've read this story a few too many times.

I'll believe it when I see it.

If you are down at training last week you would have seen him doing competitive main group drills.

He hasn’t done THAT. Since the initial injury.

I agree TBC is the right way to go. Even though as a fan I hate the lack of clarity and communication.

My immediate thoughts are that There surely has to be a middle ground to this.

Fair enough.

But if they replaced TBC with a specific number of weeks you’d still be skeptical.

Just try to stay positive I reckon. Certainly makes life more enjoyable.

If he plays VFL then youd think the club will have to give an update, i think anything prior to that may as well keep as a TBC.

In the gym with a few others of the TBC list.

Not sure if I should be happy or slightly worried

When Max runs up/down the race onto an AFL ground I'll be more nervous than he is. Until then I want him to do everything right to be able to do that. If that's being too conservative that's OK. He's obviously reasonably close to playing and he'll be a shattered man if anything goes wrong now.

In the meantime we have to experiment with our forward structure and our delivery into that zone. If we think Max is our saviour we are deluded. He will improve our structure but won't solve it. We need another big marking forward there as well. I don't care if it's Tauru or Keeler or Caminiti. Give one of them 5 games at least and then see it with better perspective.

And FFS move Owens to the midfield. If he can hold his own against fair dinkum bigger ruckmen and still get a clearance why does anyone think he can't do that without having to ruck? Move Pou to a HFF until he has more games under his belt before being belted as a bigger bodied midfielder.

To be honest I'm becoming a bit tired and cynical about our stubborn selection, positioning and gameplan. Jack Steele seems to be thriving, no doubt for a few reasons, but playing with "psychological freedom" seems to be a primary factor.

He's out on the ground now doing a bit of running and kicking with one of the fitness staff.
Mmm

They are still trying to “hide him”.

Not sure if the ever popular Brainstrust group were supposed to share he was training the other week saintmike65

Oh FFS it’s turning into a circus
If he’s up to it train with the group like any other player, seriously hiding him

And not having a crack at you

They have been doing this for months.

Pre season when he was racing for round 0. All the rehab guys would finish and Max would still be out there.

Or Max would start early and then go inside for the main session and come back out later.

Or the one I was made aware of. He was training on his own on non training days and hitting gyms etc for additional sessions.

I’ve got no idea if Max has had a setback.

I asked one of the fitness staff where he was after this mornings warm up.

He just said he was around doing his own thing and Max was in the gym with a few others.

The post training “training” has been a common occurrence for Max. Not sure it means something either way.

It is disappointing that he wasn’t out there.

My 5 year old wanted to see him - he seems to think Max is one of the best players in the league and needs to be back out there 😢

If he's doing some kicking and running he probably hasn't had a setback. Generally after a setback he has disappeared completely.

Hopefully your youngster gets the chance to see him play soon. I think he's a bit like Santa Claus to my 5yo.

Nah, Santa rolls out once a year, Maxxy is nearing two without a show.
