we should be giving him the nick name of THE CLAMP...just roll him to whoever is hot from the oppo and they get suffocated

Its not just shutting down opponents.

He is our #1 intercept player in 2023 and showing a decent amount offensively. Has also not given away a free kick.

Impressive

Early days and with always the potential for a 2nd season blues (see Berry), but he looks to be rolled gold as a player. Very very early days, but I wonder if down the track we are looking at a future captain of the club

Not sure he is a beast yet as we haven’t seen him play in a contested role, he’s been that sweeper across HB, whereas Maxy has been forced to go 1+1 against quality opposition

He's (Sheezel) literally already one of the best ground ball players in the AFL according to CD.

Ground balls & Hard ball gets = the contested possession stat.

People need to think of him less like they do Daicos, he's alot more powerfully built and physical.

Is he part of the compo picks you got for JHF?..if so, he looks a ripper

I highly doubt either club moves them, unless you think they're budding inside mids.
LOL

Sheezel will be an extraordinary Mid/Forward and Nick Daicos an absolute elite jet midfielder...

Sheezel played Forward/mid and Daicos midfield as juniors and that's where they'll be playing the majority of their AFL career...bookmark it!!!

I agree, but my guess is they both end up engine room mids. And very good ones, at that
Don't be guessing that's a stone cold certainty.

Both where either best or very close in the comp right through there junior comps. They're both elite talents.

It's scary how similar he is to Benny hart. Almost as scary as eating something from Hungry Jack's 😁

Nope.

Wardlaw and Port's 2023 R1 pick this year was the deal for JHF.

Wardlaw is a fairly ridiculous prospect though on initial viewing in the VFL (although very underdone).

He's a bit like Cunnington/Selwood if they had Judd/LDU's/Dangers athleticism.

So you want to tell me which of Norths vaunted small forwarrds is stopping Sheezel from playing there now? After all if his future is forward/mid, he'd be there now.

Half back is an entirely different developmental track. It ends at inside mid, but they all do.

Cheers. Don't worry, we want that port 2023 1st to be as close to pick 1 as possible and hope you guys get the better end of the JHF trade

Edit. I wonder if you didn't lose JHF, would sheezel have been your pick 1? Kniwing you had picks 2 and 3 it allowed a wardlaw and sheezel as it covered the talent and gap spots

It says a lot about the trust the coaches have in Max that is being given the job on the most dangerous small forwards. And he’s absolutely cleaning them up.
He just doesn’t get beaten one on one. Ever.
His knowledge of when to apply a bit of body pressure, his willingness to block and clear space, his clean hands and disposal by foot and his calmness of mind are all incredible.
He’s the real deal.
Max is apparently asking for the toughest gig each week. As someone who loved watching Benny Hart (and also S Wellman) come through in the early 90’s I am just so impressed by his confidence, skills, pace and composure. The 1%’s.

Sometimes you just know you have a 200-250 game player on your hands early on. As we have with Max barring injury.

Murray, Hinge, Jones, Worrell and now Max. Some great long term defensive talent we are building

Give it away FFS, I've watched Sheezel for the 2 years before he was drafted, he's a mid/forward in waiting.

So you're questioning Clarko's nous with footballers and their development?

You've obviously not watched Sheezel if you think he ever played like your usual "small forward", he's supreme in the air, agile, footy I.Q. off the charts. slippery in traffic...it's actually very difficult to find a flaw in his game.

Kayne Turner obviously

Some of us wanted him to play on Greene in round 1... wouldn't have fared worse than Doedee imo.

Ofc Sheezel is your quarter pounder whilst future Capitano is your Big Mac.
can't go wrong with either, but BM is more complete and satisfying.
What is your alias... wouldn't be another fast food username by any chance that has gone into hiding....
