Now that he is half / half between Melbourne and Sydney I would think it's in the SFC's interest to have a full time captain in Sydney. Marketing and leadership responsibilities are required around the club on a 24/7 basis. In addition, he obviously does not need the captaincy situation hanging over his head during his current personal plight. Its tough enough as it is. What do others think?

Yeah, but it is 1/3 personal insults, 1/3 club bagging, and (out with calculator for quick final check) 1/3 useful information and comment.
St Kilda's rotational captaincy seems to be working. Other players have commuted to play. No obvious reason a commuting captain wouldn't work, or why it shouldn't be tried.
