And nobody comes close to Dusty who was top 3 in coaches votes, but not even top 40 in PlaYa RatINgS.
There is a watch on Lachie Neale for 2025, he might challenge Dusty for coach love despite lack of PlaYA RatINg impact.

Nobody comes close to Dusty, you can say that again.
One of only two players to unify all 3 titles, Brownlow, Coaches MVP, player ratings. Throw in an Ayres Medal and N. Smith Medal and I think it was pretty unanimous Dopplegagger.

As for Simpson, maybe this is a good sign as to why he isnt coaching anymore...
I think it was moreso to do with the fact that we had a very even contribution on the weekend, and votes could easily be shares across 6-8 player.

Yep Dusty had one good season in 2017.

lol Dusty will be so proud that his 2017 where he played the most decorated season in the history of the sport qualifies as “one good season.”
His 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 seasons however don’t count as good seasons, because you don’t have to be good to achieve 3rd in Brownlow, Norm Smith Medal, Gary Ayres Medal, AA team & squad, best mid-forward in the game, top 10 rated player, club b&f, top 3 club b&f, average 20+ disposals and a goal+ per game, return 56 goals + assists while averaging over 20 disposals in your second season, win Premierships or Minor Premierships, 45000 extra fans turning up to your 300th game, top the AFL year after year for offensive 1v 1 contest win %, or any of the many other notable things he achieved in those seasons. They were not good seasons we are now informed.
Imagine thinking a season with a PlaYA RaTinG avg of 13 is a good season.
Shaun Mannagh avg 13+ in player ratings in 2024, solid but not majorly impactful on games, but unlike Dusty he didn't come 3rd in coaches votes

What a stupid example. Mannagh only played half the season, had a terrific impact both offensively and defensively, but is not a fully exposed player as yet.
Dusty recorded player ratings above 13 in 9 seasons of 13 he played since player ratings commenced.
You are trying to deflect, we can all see that, so you are on your own from here on in on this thread re Dusty. The player we are particularly interested in here is Nick the Kickins.
You said Dusty had one good season. That is all we need to hear to know how credible you are.

Coll v Carl ‘banter’ thread full of trash, some of the posts are appalling and down right racist but we know this site has a lot of Carlton mods so all good apparently.

Naicos already has 2 15+ player rating seasons, both where he was also top 3 in both brownlow and coaches votes...so everyone agreeing were elite seasons.
But good old Meteor went with a flex that Naicos wasn't impactful because he wasn't top 6 in PlaYA RatInGs (he had a 16.78 compared to Neale with 16.80 and Serong 16.98)
Poor Meteor can't fathom that Dusty had a top 3 coaches votes season with a PlaYA RaTinG of just 13.39

You’ve no need to go to all this trouble to protect every scared person’s hero Daicos. You could just simply say it is fine with you that McRae gives him extra coaches votes his performances don’t warrant to elevate him above the elite players who aren’t squibs and into the top one so he gets the award.
