the reasons for us playing so badly, and so many injuries may be down to the players being pissed off with Steve Harris and his "corporate" ways? Many of us, as supporters, are not happy with Harris, maybe it's the same with the players? Something just not seem right, so throwing in some "maybe's"..................

not just talking "jumpers" here guys....... Harris is all corporate, just wants to "sell more merchandise", not really doing much for our players and supporters with regards to actual football, game wise.

Players dont give a stuff what happens offield with the club or what their wearing.

Most would love the changes as unlike us supporters who follow the club forever.
Most players never supported the club.

So all they care about is getting games an hoping for success onfield.

well, as I said it was a "maybe", .....................something is just "not right" at the Club.

I don't know what you mean, neishaj. Everything seems right at the club. Same as 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, half of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Not sure what happened last year.

yes Clay, but we have much more potential this year, even with the injuries........ different coach, different CEO, different players, yet still not producing................

I know there are a lot of people who have the knives out for the Steves, and I'm not their biggest fan either.

But to blame our current form on them is ridiculous.

You can't blame the Steves for the team serving up shit, but it is pretty clear that they aren't focused on the right priorities.

You're making a lot of sense here neishaj, just don't expect any rational response from the Steve apologists on this board.

We produced some pretty insipid efforts towards the end of last year. There were some very obvious things that we needed to address - and didn't. We were outplayed in a number of games after Barlow went down and the injuries started to accumulate. Most of the reason we lost is that we struggled to win the ball, because our midfield lacked depth.

Come 2011, here we are again. Exposed for depth, and failing to win the ball. It's not like we didn't know our depth was ordinary at the end of 2010. But if anything our depth seems to have gotten worse. There was almost nothing done to add ball-winning midfield depth, aside from Lower. Certainly none of the national draftees are of that ilk.

That was as poor a game as the Hawks game in Tassie. And we had far fewer quality senior players in that game last year. The injury excuse doesn't cut it.

Maybe. I'd be interested to know if anything was done regarding our poor record with injuries last year, eg. any investigation into our training methods and facilities that may have caused it. TBH, that's the sort of shit that should be a core responsibility of a CEO of a football club, in conjunction with the football department of course.

It's a deadset no brainer that there will be at the end of this season.

I am a bit worried that we (Steves or whoever) did drop the ball in regards to getting the right assistant coaches to replace those who left, as well. I hope such on field stuff didn't get put on the back seat if favour of off field stuff, but I'm not filled with confidence.

I agree with this. It has to be football first and it has to be demonstrated consistently that this club is all about winning games of football.

A definite possiblity.
Justin Longmuir's role with us was, I believe the development of our younger players he now holds a similar position with the Eagles.
Strange how our guys progressed in the previous 2 years and this year the Eagles young guys have stepped up. Who now holds that role with us?

Remember that the President is not paid. He does this for love of the club. Trust me when I say he's just as passionate as the rest of us and has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything to do with on-field decisions nor does he want to.

It's interesting that the doom & gloomers will accept practically anything as an explanation for our poor form so long as it has negative and sinister connotations. The one explanation that is simple, obvious and makes the most sense i.e. that 1/3 of our best players are injured is rejected out of hand as a copout.
We've only been rebuilding for 3 drafts now and all of the depth players that aren't injured are low draft picks or rookies and just not that good. (eg Crichton, Pearce, Van Berlo etc).
It's not rocket surgery guys. Put Sandi, Mundy, Mora, Suban, Hayden, McPhee, Silvagni into the team instead of some of the guys crabbing it up and see how we go.

Agreed, E shed. Threads like this are divisive, contemptible bullshit. It took collingwood at least 6 years to build their current era. We're an up and down club at the moment and that's just the reality of fielding a young team compensating for injuries.

Injuries are definetly the MAIN reason we are traveling the way we are at the moment.
BUT the other annoying factors we are all complaining about should try to be rectified.
1 Lack of desire by some players in certain contests
2 Weird team selections
3 Apparent loss of skills by some players
4 The Palmer situation
5 Players lining up in unusual positions.
6 Monumental Brain fades i.e Last quarter against the Hawks
Look fixing the above may not make us win a lot more games with the injuries we have but as supporters we would not be so totally p----- off.
