MCG game 2026

But they could put it in primetime for the US?
Sure. But seems like a game NBC or Fox if they protected would of wanted for November.

But if it is the kickoff game the NFL have to put a big draw on with the Rams. Don't see KC doing it back to back years so either 9ers/Dallas or packers/Bills if they finish the same spot. But dont see the Rams winning thr West so I don't see them drawing Bills or packers

As in it'll start at 9:30am??
prob 10:15 kickoff. It would give the MCG grounds crew time to get it ready for a semi the next day.

They should do a double header traditional super bowl champions kick off game and then the Australia game. even if the kickoff game is moves up an hour and the LA Rams game starts at 12:30/1PM here which would be 10:30PM/11PM Eastern and 8PM West coast and just have 2 west coast teams play

Think read somewhere looking at 11am start
The NFL isnt starting its first game of the year at 9pm eastern.

Is that semi final weekend?
Or super wild card weekend? Or whatever it’s called.
Yeah Semi final weekend.

Round 23 is Aug 20-23
Wild card/Pre finals bye Aug 27-30
Finals week 1 Sept 3-6
Semi Finals/NFL week 1 Sep 10-13

NFL week 1 we know because College week 1 is labor day weekend [first Monday in September] and the NFL starts the following week so they dont have to compete with fans going holiday for the weekend

I was more being facetious about the stupidity of AFL doing WC for a league wide comp.

Seems like you are right, but this article
Seems to suggest a Labor day weekend game could make sense

NFL wont play a labor day weekend game because of final rosters and stuff. They wont want teams flying to Australia as roster cuts are made and practice squad signings.

and if they were thinking the week before they would of told the MCC and already announced it so broadcasters know how the schedule CFB week 1. also both sides of government are keeping an eye on the NFL to possibly strengthen the sports broadcasting act with how the NFL has been trying to strong arm other leagues.

Thats just last weeks stupid decision the AFL made.

Yep and even Scott Hanson is getting in on the promo

Nice of them to show a half empty MCG from the sky to make the Rams feel at home

Publicity machine going into overdrive

would be so f**king funny if the NFL go with someone else as the 2nd broadcaster in Australia since Ch7 only signed a 1 year extension in May

Stuart Fox said at a lunch today that this will be either a 10am or 11am start on the Friday, and while they will be able to have the ground ready for a Saturday twilight final, they are hoping it doesn't come to that

The NFL have set an internal deadline of Superbowl week to sell the game to a streamer. And would announce it and the teams at the mid week Commissioner press availability
