Why is it that some gates you have to scan your ticket or membership when going outsite of the ground at the breaks? but then some gates you have the pass out tickets.

I went out of one of the gates and scanned off only to find when I went to came back in it said that my membership hadn't scanned off properly and I couldn't get back in. Then I remembered that when we were walking out at the halftime break that the machine just said 'GO' and the staff member who was sitting there wasn't even checking. I had to spend 10 minutes to a 'supervisor' who thought he was apart of the FBI in his smug suit by reiterating what had happend until he finally believed me, he even went to the extent of checking my friends membership to see if we came in at the same time, then tried to test us by saying 'why did the memberships have a 10 minute difference' (which they didn't) get a life you bozo clown. Obviously the people on the scanners weren't doing there job properly, and obviously next time I will make sure that I scan off properly but there was no way of telling if my membership had scanned of properly?

Why not just have pass outs at all gates?

Too many scammers with the pass-out system, plus the debacle of the 2007 Preliminary Final because legitimate ticketholders who had left the ground pre game were locked out as the ground was considered "full".

The scanning system should be much better. Pretty simple, if you scan out, make sure you do it properly. Cant see how its the machines fault.

Every time I scan out at Etihad I don't have any problems getting back in? Have never scanned out or got a passout at the G.

Suit is just part of the uniform, nothing to do with staff trying to be smug. They are obliged to make sure people are not sneaking in. People do try and will spin any kind of story if they are questioned.

MCC is trying to phase out the pass out gates due to the number of people sneaking at some big games, particularly grand finals. I know there are very few if any problems with this system in the members, been using it for a number of years now. Hopefully any teething problems will be fixed up quickly.
