IMO i dont think it was at full capacity because there were a few screen shots of the crowd and i saw a few spare seats..
but it was good to see the crowd back up to 6 digits.

It wouldnt have been as much as the Western Stand wasnt there as it was built in 1967 (before the most recent rebuild).

I think you'll find that if you pan around the crowd at any match you'll see empty seats. People who choose to stand up the back instead of taking their seats, people getting drinks and food, going to the toilet etc. So while the seats look unoccupied the chances are they technically are.

That would account for a lot of the empty seats.

But companies (like Centre Square) who sell packages for $1,500+ which include a ticket would no doubt have had plenty of unsold seats left, which really is a crying shame, considering how many fully paid up loyal Cats and Hawks members would not have been able to get a reasonably priced seat.

This same shit happens every year. I say 2,000 tickets each to the 14 non-participating clubs, split 50,000 between the 2 clubs playing and give the rest away in 20,000 LUCKY Sunny Boy/Razz/Glug Tetra Paks and Hoadley's Show Bags. You all know it makes sense.
