Gov for skipper.

I know some of you are keen if the idea of Shuey but I feel liek Gov has a different sort of strength about him.
I can see him as a captain who would command respect.

Thoughts?

Everyone is forgetting he was shaking hands with the hawks players before the match on GF day. Not enough mongrel

It seems to me that Huron does his best to lead from the front, along with MCGovern, Kennedy and Shuey. Mitchell and Petrie in the Gold Coast game.

Other than that, the rest of the spuds are too mentally weak to follow suit.

We could have Obama on the field and none of them would follow

First of all sorry for the bump.

After watching Gov over the last couple years, I reckon he'd be the worst choice as our next captain. Love the guys his general overall laziness that have lead to goals over the last couple weeks justs goes to show that he ain't a great leader. Well that might be a harsh way to put it but it might also be maturity. Sadly Allen is still quite young and Duggo is still hit and miss too.

Surely Shuey has it for the next couple of years anyway.

Maybe the captaincy has affected Gov and he's trying to do too much?

I think this year he's gone from a 9 to a 7.
Reckon he's cost us at least 5 goals in the last 2 games alone.

Like when he got caught holding the ball in front of goal.
Sure it was a shocking kick by Barrass, but Gov had to realise the heat would be coming and instead of just throwing it on the boot, he tried to beat the traffic.

He's flown under the radar a bit this year with his form.
Kelly and Gaff have probably copped it the most, but Gov would be in the top 3 or 4 paid for us I think and he's been average.

Would love to see him bounce back this Friday night.

The thing is that he's been good bar his kicking and lazy. Against Port and Saints he was vintage him self but literally brought done an A grade game due to his disposal and brain farts. This year turnover just get absolutely pounced on too.

If Yeo can get his body right, he should be our next captain.

Duggan will be captain after Shuey.
Depending on how long Shuey plays for. If his hammy surgery fixes the issue and he has another 2-3 years as captain then Oscar is next in line IMO. If he pulls the pin either as a player or captain in the next 12 months then I think Duggo is a fair chance but certainly not a monty.
