McGregor in doubt for Crows

Adelaide key defender Ken McGregor is in doubt for Saturday’s second elimination final against West Coast at AAMI Stadium with a bout of the flu.

McGregor, one of the Crows’ most improved players, was unable to take part in Friday morning’s training session. The Crows will give McGregor as long as possible to recover before finalising their team.

Fellow key position player Ian Perrie, who was surprisingly dropped on Thursday night, is one of the Crows’ three emergencies and the likely replacement for McGregor.

However coach Gary Ayres said he was expecting McGregor to recover in time for Saturday’s knock-out final.

Ayres also appealed to the Crows fans to get behind the game for what is the Crows’ first final at home since 1997.

Just 27,000 of the 54,000 tickets have been sold for the game while only 21,000 have been sold for Sunday’s qualifying final between Port Adelaide and Sydney.

If Kenny is not near 100%, he should not play.

Stevo to CHB.

Perrie to FF.

We should take no stupid risks like the Pies & Roos games.

Get smart selectors.

From a good source

Perrie and Ladhams will both play

McGreogor and Johnco ck are out.

Not good news, don't know why Stiffy is in doubt.

Stiffy has been struggling with the flu too last couple of weeks.

Good call by AFC it the players are not 100%.

Is this the same source as previously? Cause they're usually on the money.....I think we can cover McGregor against WC with Hart, Smart and Bassett, Stevens can even still play forward, though indications are he'll play back. Stiffy a bigger loss, but if Ladhams and Burns get into gear we should be right as well.

So Perrie and Ladhams get a kick up the arse without being dropped!

Kenny and Stiffy in particular are huge losses. :(

Yep, its a good North Adelaide source and apparantly the two have been recalled to the Crows. Usually pretty correct.

Good call Dave

There should be huge pressure on spots based on performance which is a good thing.

We have the choice of playing:
FB: Bassett / Smart
HB: Smart / Stevens
HF: Carey
FF; Stevens / Perrie
I: Perrie / Bassett

ie. Have plenty of options.

Still no excuses.

If we lose this week will we hear Gary say "Missed it...by that much!?" ;) After the last few weeks you'd start to think Gaz was a KAOS agent...
