There is a discussion on another thread regarding how you could fit: Thursty, Rance, Mcguane and Moore on the backline. One option is to play Macca forward. He takes a great grab, is as tough as nails, would apply great defensive pressure and kicked a lovely goal last week from outside 50. And we desperately need a tough, skillful KP up forward. Thoughts?

Late edit: Just read the 'tiger take' thread which refers to this scenario but doesn't encourage the prospect of discussing it as a real option.

after that sensational goal he kicked under pressure late in game, maybe, however I believe he is one the games up and coming defenders...I really love the kids attack on the footy, throwing himself into every contest...fair dinkum he'd stand in front of the light brigade on full charge to take a mark...Leave him in defence
:thumbsu:

They can be fitted in the backline together depending on the oppositions forward set up of course. All 4 of them are capable of playing on both tall and medium sized forwards and Moore has the ability to play on the smal forwards as well.

:)You do the sensible thing ...if they're playing as talls, you slot three into defence and play one on the bench and rotate them so as to not wear them the hell out!!!
Few players play the full four quarters these days and it makes sense. All four are in our best 22.
And quite correct, Moore can play on smalls.

Its not as silly as it sounds - he does have a dip nd has a little bit of agro about him. I can see him crashing a few packs and at least bringing the ball to the ground. He might make a few backmen look over their shoulders once or twice. Plus hiskicking for goal can't be any worse than the Big Fella.
What have we got to lose. Jack is out of touch and Cleve is languishing in the Coburg seconds - can't see any other tall forward around. Bring in Will and move Luke up forward - go on Terry I dare you?

He actually played as a CHF in his junior days, I absolutely would give him a go.

We could fill his spot with Thursty or even Sarge?

We have a few options down back but very few up forward, could be a "richo to the wing" type move

He's too good down back, easily been out best defender so far this year. Moore and Rance are the only slightly similar ones out of the four IMO, they're all fairly different and all bring something to the table.

I'd like to see it and have been calling for it for over a year for these reasons

a) we have enough talls down back to actually facilitate the move (bring Thursty in)
b) he'll give a contest every time and even if he doesn't mark it he'll bring the ball to ground for Morton , Nahas , Reiwoldt , Brown , Collins and co to crumb
c) Rewoildt has alot of footy smarts but is not tall enough and big enough to be our Centre Half Forward for the next ten years. He is good in a pocket on a flank but I think his future is on the ball.
d) defensive pressure when the ball is going out. McGuane will have opposition backmen looking over their shoulders regardless if the ball is coming in or out.

It pains me to see that over the last 4 weeks crap that they haven't tried it yet. He's only going to get bigger and better that's for sure. May as well be up forward. if they don't then they should at least start putting games upforward into either Post , Vickory , Hughes and Gourdis.

David Neitz started as a backman;) Wallace's only hope is to once again become an innovator and roll the dice on a few young blokes, make positional changes and change his game plan.

reidwolt is a couple of cm's taller then mcguane, but i see where your coming from, if riedwolt get some size and muscle he will be alright, but its worth trying mcguane up foward, dont think it will work but why not try him?

i really want to see the guys you mentioned tried up foward even if they havent been playing the greatest for coburg. hughes and schulz play well, we reward them and they show nothing, so why not give these other guys a go, they may not have done as much to earn it, but they may actually show something and take their opportunity.
