Do you think we should try and get Mckernan? It might cost us a couple of players and he is 28 so it's a big call, but we desperately need another tall forward because Fevola isn't steping up.

Like I said on my board, I think McKernan would be a great pickup given the righ environment. He's still a good player, just he lost his confidence for chunks of the year this year.

The hitch would be how much we have to give up to get him, I wouldn't be giving too much up.

I wouldn't want to give anything more than Porter away. In fact, I think he's worth more than Corey. It is confirmed that the Roos want more than just Porter. To that I say: Get stuffed

It is not confirmed, but it is rumoured, that they are also asking for Houlihan. To that I say: Get f*cked!

Unfortunately, we may be stupid enough to agree to that one....:(

Essendon are believed to have offered Henneman and Misiti for Porter in a desperate bid to get a ruckman so the McKernan deal may be off, Mckernan on his day is still a great player and it will be sad to see him leave the roos.

Go Roos in 2002

McKernan is getting old, something we don't need in our already ageing list. He is past his best form, but he could be handy for a few more years... the trading bait should be Allan. Mark Porter plays very good footy and shows signs at times, but Allan always gets injuried... which is a big problem. Whenever one ruckman is out, the other plays very well. Porter is younger, fitter and less injury prone than Allan.

Do not do a trade that would help make Essendon Stronger. That is a NO NO

Mckernan ... is good value but i would like to see a young buck like Corey Jones thrown in as well. good ruckmen are hard to come by.

No, you can't have Corey Jones.

I don't really want McKernan to head over to Carlton anyway simply because your club is one of the better ones at ressurecting the careers of recycled players.

The other thing is that the style of play will suit McKernan. Firstly, there won't be any "Pagans Paddock" instructions that result in McKernan being forced to go into the midfield. Secondly, you'll have someone like Camporeale being able to deliver long, low passes onto the chest of McKernan instead of some idiot like Clayton bombing it into his general direction (usually the midpoint between McKernan and Carey and often into the arms of an opposition defender  )

Good point Shinners, the Blues could certainly help McKernan's game, plus it wouldn't hurt to have a player that can dob the long goal.

BAD LUCK BLUE BAGGERS NOW YOU CAN PUT UP WITH COREY RUNNING UNDER THE BALL WHEN HE GOES FOR A MARK.KEEP UP YOUR GOOD FORM OF THE BLUES COREY,4 YEARS OF GREAT FOOTY:p

We gave up Porter and our 1st and 2nd draft picks for McKernan and North's 2nd and 3rd picks.

For an aging player that gets ridiculed by his own teams fans .... typical Blues thing to do but it may well work.

I'm not entirely happy about it but the jury is still out.

Hey Bluebaggers,

Look after Corey - he is a great player and also a great guy ;)and he will do very well at your club. :(

How do you guys rate Porter? What are his +s & -s?
