interesting to see who will take over. allen stockdale or geoff freeman, and we always got kennett. keen to hear the rest of this when i get back from work tonight

also has he quit the board as well or just the presidency? i know information is low but post as soon as we know more
 
Though I kinda hope he hasn't so the Sun look like moo's for their BRAKING: Look what story we posted mostly before others.

It didn't go the way we all hoped in terms of on field results but thanks for all your hard work, Don :thumbsu:

The right decision to step down but it can't be easy being president of this shambles of a club. More directors need to fall on their swords.
 
despite what has happened i would like to thank don for all that he did for the club, a hard ask it was to take over after the great jim stynes and you can see that Don loved the dee's and only wanted the best for them, however his best may have been mistakes in the eyes of others. i think that it is for the best but thanks Don i knew you gave it your all and sometimes your all is to step down under pressure as well. you may not e president but your part of the red and blue family no matter what and i hope to still see you coming down to the MCG for our games.

Don you had to go but thanks for the effort, you tried to put into our club.
 
Totally expected, no way does Melbourne completely re-forge their structure without cleaning.

Good news, hopefully it continues.

I feel we have missed a solid opportunity on this as a forum and am therefore putting in an official submission to the gods of bigfooty to change the title of this thread to "Is Don, Is Gawn"

I'm hoping for the motion to be seconded.

This is bigger than the federal election for me.
 
We need new people. Noone in our club at the moment has proven they have a solid idea to fix this mess.

A fresh approach is required imo. But maybe not THAT approach though....

Excuse my interruption but being a membership based club wouldn't Kennett have to be elected to the Board? If so, would the membership vote him in?

Don McLardy is a good guy who loves your club. Don't think he ever really wanted to be the Prez but stepped-up when his very good mate Jimmeh asked for his help in his time of need. Hope he's not the sacrificial lamb for the state your great club finds itself in.
 
McLardy definitely put his hand up at a transitional time for the club. I respect that and thank him for that. It's definitely time for new leadership though, as Don rightly pointed out, we haven't performed to expectation. Needless to say we've lost a lot of momentum that Jimmy (and others) built up.

I'm not entirely convinced of the remaining board members either but we'll see what happens.
