Have a listen!

I for one thought it was perfect, he truly loves the red & white and I hope that's how all of our players feel about the Swans.

Please, do not turn this into a pro McVeigh/anti McVeigh captaincy shitstorm. The topic is the speech and how he delivered it, there are plenty of other threads to talk about his form as Captain.

I came online to post this but I see you have beaten me to it.

It's a tough gig following great leaders and speakers such as Brett Kirk and Craig Bolton but I think McVeigh rose to the occasion last night.

"It's easy to put your body in the jumper, but harder to put your heart in to it."

I thought it was a great speech and certainly had my attention, it was passionate and well delivered. He addressed issues such as player behaviour and attitude, also the perception by those outside the club that we just make up the numbers and are content with this. This is not just a job for this man, hard as nails and very committed. Kudos to the recognition of those who went before and the very hard work put in by everybody to try and win a premiership.

Yeah good speech you can tell how much he loves the club...:thumbsu:

but...nah just just kidding, Go Bloods!

Stirring stuff.

Few players can aspire to the impossible, incredible and astonishing ability of Adam Goodes but all can aspire to embrace the culture, love of the club and work ethic which McVeigh embodies.

He'll win a few fans with those sort of words. The way he delivered them was just as impressive. Clearly doesn't love the media spotlight but he stepped up well last night. There was a steely edge to his words and the way he looked last night, could tell he really meant what he said.

Hahaha, yes, yes, yes.

Probably my most watched footy video on youtube aside from the Davis last quarter and the '05 GF.

Listening to it now :) Liked it. Think the Swans have chosen well here.

Just a quick add.... he spoke for just over 7 minutes, not easy to hold your audience for that amount of time. Well done

It's alright, but it's hardly the Gettysburg Address.

He speaks a short sentence, then stops to check his notes.

Kind of like this.

The tone doesn't change much.

He tends to repeat himself.

And the sentences are short.

Man... I can't wait to hear this thing.

For the love of God, someone upload it. :(
A transcription has just landed in my inbox:
One score and nine years ago our Swan fathers brought forth on this city, a proud club, conceived down south, and dedicated to the proposition that all Bloods are created superior.

Oh wait, that's from my dreams.
