Yes botton age key forwards are supposed to take over games early into their second season. Hoogs & Bradesmaen = NFI. Why don't look up objectivity in the dictionary then try and get some. Your posts smack of ignorance and thats not a good thing. Ben Reid has shown plenty at this early stage but those who are blind cannot see.

Why don't you look up inaccuracy while you are there.

I don't see you offering any proof Timmy... Got anything to add?
We're still waiting for your list of bottom age key forwards who have dominated the AFL in their second seasons. Big guys take longer to develop which is something I thought even an idiot understood but after reading your brilliant insights into the game I admit I was wrong. I feel sorry for you, wanting to talk football but having NFI, you have my sympathy.

Ahahaha, get the hell out of this forum then. Honestly, since when does ANY key forward dominate in their second year? Let alone a bottom aged one.

You're the one saying Reid can't play and Cloke's accuracy is currently 75% this year a stat than can fluctuate from year to year, just something else you got wrong. I've well and truly got your measure but before I go one piece of advice, pull your pants up, it's never a good look.

Its pretty simple, Medders is still Medders - his good can be brilliant, his bad is shithouse. He is just in a different team now that needs him more.
And still gives away 50s for mouthing off at umpires.

But seriously he has improved, but if he was still at Freo he would be playing WAFL week after week because he wouldn't have learned from his selfish brand of footy that plunged him into mediocrity. From what I know Medhurst blamed himself for his poor form and not Fremantle and the fact that he is playing well atm for Collingwood shows that he is learning from past selfish attitudes.

And on a side not why aren't these opposition tool's post been deleted and why haven't they been given the arse.

3 games in his limited goal scoring opportunities. Of course it can fluctuate, its a variable, not a set coefficient. Jeez, you'd think anyone could work that out. Apparently not.

Oh also, pul up my pants? What for? I haven't done anything other than embarrass you with my superior knowledge of your own players.

Clearly it frustrates Fremantle that Medhurst is now a far better player than he was in the west.

Collingwood would be in front had the trade been Medhurst for Tarrant, ignoring the fact we got the No.8 pick as well which was used on Ben Reid.

Saying Palmer is better than Reid is pointless, Palmer is a different player from a different draft and Collingwood couldn't have possibly selected him even if they wanted to.

One thing that I think is worth discussing, is the number of players who have gone on to become better players since leaving Fremantle and players who have gone backwards since joining the Dockers.

From a Collingwood perspective I will mention Clement (superstar of the competition), Holland and Medhurst as players who have become better and well, Taz, while he wasn't exactly flying at the Pies when he was traded, he clearly has gone downhill since he moved west.

Brown had the help of 2 other players who blocked his run and helped out. Even he can admit that, it was far from a one on one battle.

Of course as a Collingwood supporter you'd say that. Because you're bombarded by the Magpie publicity machine that turns every player who pulls on a B&W jumper into an instant superstar.

Clement clearly improved under Malthouse. No one will dispute that. But Holland is the same average player he always was. Ever wonder why Collingwood supporters are the only ones who rate him?

Taz has gone backwards from his golden form early in his career but he was no worse last year than his last couple of years at Collingwood. Likewise Medhurst has gone backwards from his early golden years and was no better last year than he was in his last couple of years at Freo.

Anyone who believes otherwise obviously doesn't watch enough football to form an educated opinion and instead relies on swallowing everything the Victorian media tells them.

How old are you?

For real?

Medhurst and Reid For Tarrant Has Been the Deal of the Century So Far!

Reid is a 20 year old KPP and you're having a go at him? Stop making yourself look silly.

Medhurst >>>>> Tarrant
Reid >>>>>>>> Nothing
Collingwood >>>>>>>>>> Fremantle
Truth hurts doesnt it?
You're rioht with your observation, except that Ben Reid is not 20 years old. He is actually only 18 years old.
reid was drafted very bottom aged. Do you expect him to burst onto the AFL scene in what should be his first year of AFL footy. Give the kid some time. And your happy with tarrant are ya?
Yes he was a very bottom aged draft pick, and even then he still went top-10. It was widely expected that if he had been drafted at the end of last year instead, he probably would have been selected in the first three or four. He should be a great player, and with the facilities and stability of the Collingwood Football Club, there is no reason why he shouldn't be. Collingwood must be very happy with the trade so far, and last week the radio commentators in Melbourne were mentioning how much better Collingwood did out of it. I wonder if they'll be doing the same this week after Medhurst's performance yesterday.
Palmer (19) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reid (20)
Ummm, Ben Reid is only 18 years old, not 20, and what does Palmer have to do with the Tarrant for Medhurst and Reid trade?
Wiz (30 something)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Medhurst (late 20s)
Firstly, Medhurst is in his mid-20s, not late-20s. Secondly, are you referring to the comparisons over their career to date, or only since Medhurst has been at Collingwood? In the time that Medhurst has been at Collingwood, he has been much, much better than Farmer. Finally, what on earth does Farmer have to do with the Tarrant for Medhurst and Reid trade?
PAV>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Colonwood !!
Well let's look at this then. Collingwood beat Fremantle in Round 1, and are currently ahead on the ladder. Collingwood finished less than a goal from the Grand Final last season, while Fremantle were pre-season premiership favourites that failed to make the finals. In the time that Freo have been in the AFL, Collingwood has won more total matches than Fremantle has, and has also won more head to head matches. To suggest that one Freo player is better than Collingwood, when Fremantle is not better than Collingwood is a bit silly.

Then why is Ben Reid being discussed then?

Freo had no chance of getting him either...

Medhurst kicked 9 goals for us in a game. For those that think the Pies have turned him into a player, look back on his stats. You'll realise he played his best footy at Freo, but he can't do 'enough' of the team things. How many handballs did he have on the weekend? 0? Those shots that you all say were difficult, should have been kicked to the top of the square. Of course they were all difficult shots. That's the way Medders plays.

8/10 times he did try to spot up someone by centering the ball (and 8/10 times it resulted in a shot on goal). One of those goals he should have really but when you can kick them why not the others he had every right to have a shot. He had 5 assists on the weekend. He has also had 9 tackles this season which if playing for Freo would have him 2nd behind Josh Carr. Just because he doesn't handball much doesn't mean he's selfish. He plays in the forward line, not many goals are kicked or many marks are taken from handballs.

He is a much more complete player at Collingwood while at Freo I feel you tried not to tamper with him too much and let him go as a undersized full forward/leading forward who can kick the odd miraculous goal. He probably just needed a change of club.

Because this is not Dockerland. If you can't take criticism go to that site where they all stroke each other and if your opinion is different to the moderator you get blacklisted.

Very good points Flagpie. Its a shame that the poor Docker suppoorters only see through their purple eyes. Their trading & drafting record would surely rank well below everyone else. Their talent development is clearly lacking, however instead of accepting these facts, they continue to ignore reality.

I hope the Dockers can get back on track, & playing guys like Palmer, Mayne, Warnock, Ibbotson et al is the way to go. Time for Solomon, Johnson, Tarrant etc to go back to the WAFL & demand a game through form, or face the very real prospect of being delisted.

really? i thought we traded Tarrant for Medhurst & pick 8, but i stand corrected. In any event, the made another poor trading & drafting decision.

It was a 3-way deal involving Richmond. Yes you did get pick 8, but that was from Richmond, not Fremantle.

That's why it's unfair to include Ben Reid in the discussion of the trade as Freo never had a shot at him.
