I think Browny whacked Jamieson a lot harder tonight than he did on the field a couple of weeks ago.

Considering how sensitive the AFL is, I wouldn't be surprised if Jono gets the standard 'please explain' letter from them next week for one or two of his other comments.

Be wary with recruits

Sheedy said it's vital the right decisions are made, citing the Brisbane Lions' ill-fated decision to sign Brendan Fevola to a big-money deal ahead of the 2010 season.
"We've got to get players, there's no doubt about that, and we'll get them," Sheedy said after the loss.
"But don't panic and get the wrong ones.
"I think sometimes that's what clubs do and I've seen clubs grab at straws and not really get it right.
"You probably saw that with Brisbane and Fevola. They just never got it right."

Ralphy was on to it,

Funny that Sheeds says he is desperate to recruit the right mature-ager & not a Fev when we know who recruited Fev to Brisbane
— Jon Ralph (@RalphyHeraldSun) June 16, 2013

As was pointed out by TBD somewhere earlier, Leuey was on AFL360 tonight, albeit by phone.

I IQ AFL360 every night and generally skip over 50% of it, and one thing I have noticed in recent months, especially from Robbo, is the disdain he has for our club and its players and to a lesser extent, I'd say Gerard too.

Usually Robbo is about to burst with excitement every time he interviews any player, but I genuinely got the impression earlier that he was disappointed that Leuey re-signed. No doubt both Robbo and Gerard were hoping Leuey would walk, either for the appealing reporting aspect and to kick our club further.

I'll at least commend them on admitting that their info was wrong all along and in their praise for Mick Whiting, one of the only credible journo's unlike those at the Herald Sun that are nothing more than bottom feeders.

I used to enjoy tuning into AFL360, but I can't stand most people on it anymore and even Gerard is slipping into the category, mainly due to Robbo's influence. In all honesty, Robbo is nothing but a pig of a bloke with no standards whatsoever and one only has to see him away from a camera to get that impression.

Me too in respect of Robbo and he has again given Vossy a whack... but well spoken by David King to say that Vossy has the team on the right track and heading up !!

Gerard apologised to Leuy for having him "gone", I also thought that he spoke really well about the Milne incident and stood up to Robbo and his sometimes ill informed opinion.

The above sounds a bit harsh Dylan12 - although you do say "in recent months" - Robbo was the first from the Southbank School of medja that took any interest in our improvement over the later part of last year and in particular Jack Redden.

I was thinking this afternoon actually, that we are lucky to have someone like fish reporting on Lions up here. His participation with the fancast and just general feel that he is reporting on 'our' team, as in he reports it as his team and shows some actual support, without going overboard. He doesn't get involved with horrible opinion pieces or big rumours, he reports the facts and seems more in time with the club than any other journo out there.

David King usually talks rubbish, but has been one of very few who have actually said he backs Voss and what he is doing with our list. Did so during preseason, it's good to see he doesn't just follow the rest of the sheep.

For what it's worth, very little, Dermie and Tony Shaw backed Vossy in on the weekend.
