Right now, it is

In 2 years, it may be even more so...

They have the best of the best off field and on field will be comparable in 2015 too :footy:

Turn it up!....According to Sundays Herald Sun, Leigh Tudor has turned down the Melbourne assistant position his preference is either us, then eagles...if he fails on either will look at North.

Edit...If Melbourne are a better option...why are they requesting a priority pick?...
Culture of cheating the system

What you are stating as fact there is extremely subjective, and not really based in reality. I find that your posts are often clouded by bitterness and melodrama.

Everything on Big Footy is subjective, but it can also be reality :thumbsu:

I'm not bitter, far from it...but from my point of view, and obviously Paul Roos' too...the Melbourne Football Club was a better option than the Brisbane Lions right now.

They have their house in order off field with some of the best football people money can buy, coupled with a list that whilst needs moulding, is far from a basket case.

It's just my opinion, stop being so melodramatic ;)

Or he has a wife and children who cannot or do not want to relocate to Brisbane. It was either return to Melbourne or stay in Sydney.

Is it necessarily that he thinks Melbourne is beter as a club than Brisbane? Or is it that they have more money to offer him?

Seems like money would be a major consideration for somebody who had to be coaxed out of a cushy media position to step into a high pressure coaching environment again. It's also been highlighted that he has family more closely linked to Victoria than Queensland.

These are a couple of plausable explanations, but you went straight for the 'Brisbane is the shittest woe is us' path.

He has stated in the media that he rejected offers of similar coin :thumbsu:

In any case, why do you feel Brisbane is the better option or are you just posting for posting's sake?

Do you really think he's going to publicly humiliate an AFL club that he's in the TOTC? Or any other for that matter...

We had Angus calling him, the Dees' had Super CEO and AFL backed Peter Jackson - geez, wonder how that was going to go???

You missed the family connection. He has a young family. Maybe Brisbane is out of the question for them. If it's similar coin, it's not going to make a difference to him, and Melbourne is the more convenient option.

I'm posting in response to your negative posting, as per my first post.

This isn't a blog. Expect dialogue.

And good on him for taking care of his parents. I'd prefer he did the right thing by his family first then take Club considerations into account.

im going to say with my rose coloured glasses he didt want to be coach when we draft his sons via father/son rule ;)

I don't think there's any buzz around his kids becoming AFL footballers beyond the fact that they exist. :)

Cough, by better option you mean the offer is the largest pay packet to coach an AFL side in history regardless of the results over 2 years.. with the further option on, depending on how Roos feels at that time, the right to extend for another year?..

You say it's the coin; others swear it's the wife's job, kids schooling, parents health, Melbourne as a location etc.

It may be a little of each; but, regardless, we never had a hope with where the Brisbane Lions Football Club is at, which is at it's lowest point since the merger.

Think we as a club need to take blame here, not judge others harshly for not choosing us when we gave them so many reasons not to choose us.

Who's judging? It is what it is. He didn't want to come here, big deal, no need to go lamb-blasting the Club.

That'd be like my friends slamming Joel Patfull because he doesn't want to be with me. It's not fair to anyone.
