Like most supporters I look for articles about Collingwood. I don't read The Hun so all I have is The Age. When I am confronted with such incompetence I get angry.

Like most supporters I look for articles about Collingwood. I don't read The Hun so all I have is The Age. When I am confronted with such incompetence I get angry.

It's rubbish isn't it, all year we have journo's saying we haven't beaten anyone, then when we come close to beating Freo, the story is that we aren't a top 4 side or Freo is off their game.

I heard some absolute flog either on tv/radio last night saying "Collingwood aren't quite the top 4 side we thought they were", I mean who the **** thought we were... What we are is a young team that is coming along a bit quicker than (I)expected, who if we continue to play the way we are, will be worthy finalists(that should be the story).

I'd be very happy just to finish top 8.

im happy at present to see us beat the teams we should beat - not losing to inadequate teams in some sort of 'bad week' situation.

not getting caned by the top teams is pleasing too.

and it would be a lot of fun to drag the tigers along with us. wanna see BIG finals, sellouts, and that means the tigers play us.

Im not sure what the problem is... It was a very "nothing" article... Really not sure how that dribble is even counted as reporting.

Basically just said: this is collingwoods current number of wins, this is the number of wins required for fourth spot in recent years, can Collingwood win enough games to make top 4? And they have a tough run ahead.

None of that is new information. None of it is anything more than just listing numbers and making very obvious superficial conclusions - something a child could do. And none of it is particularly innacurate or biased.

Why do we care? They need something to talk about. The current story is that we are high on the ladder from our easier schedule and have a tough run coming up... I garauntee you the story will change over the next few weeks. (either "pies are for real" or "repeat of 2014? Has Bucks lost his boys?")

It's not aluding anything, as much as you must love it whenever some flog journo concurs with your troll agenda. I'd guess you didn't even read it.
All the article is saying is we basically have to win most of our remaining game to make the top 4. I don't know why anyone would write such an article though, I don't think any including N.Buckley would've had top 4 as a minimum target this year it should still be seen as a bonus.
Win 2 of our next 3 and then I think top 4 becomes our target.

Spot on. When I click on an article in The Age I expect to read something that has some sort of relevance. Perhaps I shouldn't get so angry about stuff like that but I did on this occasion. Is it thread worthy...probably not. I agree with the idea of a media dedicated thread though.
