With out knowing the full extent on them it looks like Rivers and Maloney have injured themselves and hence would be unlikely to play this week. River's is probably their best defender, while Maloney gives good rebound

With Robbo out they don't really play a tall dangerous fullfoward unless Holland comes into the team, so hopefully we should'nt miss Thursty too much

Although Mclean, Jones, Green and Bruce all had big games and all in all Melbourne were pretty good and at least showed some heart. Don't expect a walk in the park next week Tigers

3 goals. Pfft. We should blow Melbourne out of the water if we are any good.
2 problems with that statement, 1 we're not playing good footy at the moment and 2 they just lost by 21 points to the Pies who are playing much better footy than us at present.

i was hoping they would put everything into this game with a bit of luck they will come out flat on sunday .

if we loose surely wallace walks away OR tells senior players u know who..... they are finished and plays kids for the rest of the season. talking about goin backwards by gettin smashed against the swans getting beat by the demons surely must be like a semi-trailer with no handbrake on top of mt everest.

Beat them last year and we were a lot worse then. They're probably worse now.

No Robbo and Neitz is great for us IMO. Moore to take Sylvia. McGuane on Miller. I hope Davey isn't back, because he could tear us apart.

Richo will destroy them as will Polak if played at FF.

But your not, expecting the 2nd win of the year this week!
In all seriousness the Dees would struggle against our Coburg team, who actually play with purpose and structure. I won't take any satisfaction out of beating Melbourne - as bad as we've played recently it's still better than Melbourne's best.

Melbourne dont exactly amount to the same kind of resistance we faced against Top 4 fancies in swans and crows ya silly looking boofhead. step back and reload with a clear head once you've recovered from the intoxifying euphoria of a 4 goal loss:eek:

We are dead set on a classic hiding to nothing this week IMO.
After again being embarrassed this week, and up against a wounded Melbourne line up we really should win and win very well at that.
BUT... the Demons are undergoing a change at board level this week, they played with pretty good fight against a very hard unit in the Pies, (they are playing much tougher footy than we are I hate to say) and they will perhaps not be expected to win.

I'm a little terrified of what might happen if we don't get things right at selection on Thursday...

Sunday will be interesting. I am expecting the first match where clangers outweight effective possessions. Clearly the worst two teams for disposal by foot. Your mids should win you the game. We can win the ball but are one paced and slow. You guys have Foley. N Brown will most likely tear us a new one. And have you guys ever watched the dees play at the dome. We're freakn abyssmal. Even when we were in the top 4 or 8 we couldnt win there. So from 16th place, I should expect you guys to be clear favourites.

even without thursfield and johnson (who we miss hugely despite the peanuts on this board)
i would hope to beat melbourne by 10 goals+

Their form is reasonable. two very good efforts out of three against in-form sides. Let themselves down against the Saints. They will see this game as a winnable one and will suitably primed. They saw the Freo as winnable and refused to lay down even after being so far behind.
Our form is woeful. The game will be won or lost by us at the selection table and I don't need to go into any great detail about what I mean about that.
if we pick the side that had us pushing the top sides earlier in the year, we will win. If we pick the same old, then we will lose.

agreed, we did miss his leadership, when someones knocked up third highest possies in league , must be having a good year. In my mind his best at tigerland it was the replacement that drew the ire of most, Polo would have been a wiser choice than Tivendale. TW lets himslef down too often with his erratic policy

There will be either something for the Melb. coach to say 'see, that is the intensity you should be playing at, so go and show it again'...or they will come out next week feeling like they are playing the 5th quarter, bruised with not much to give.

Either way, since our commitment is being seriously questioned too, and fitness seems to be one of our problems, with both teams having shite disposal, who knows how this one will play out.

At the dome, with the above mentioned, quietly confident on this one. I think we all want to see lots of kids playing with the clanger number waaaaaay down.
