Is it time? I understand he’s sick but this opinion is not purely because of that.
Melbourne is right now in turmoil and you get the impression that people with in the footy club are pulling in separate directions.
Mclardy showed today right now he is the man in charge and Jimmy is acting as simply a figure head. Melbourne has now got itself off its knees very much thanks to Jims public leadership which has worked an absolute treat because of he’s terrific charisma.
Demon fans never voted Mclardy in as president and Stynes has made football decisions which have left a lot to be desired.
What are people’s thoughts and opinions on the issue?
Remember the club is bigger than any individual?

But in he's current health he clearly can't undertake what he wishes to do. Meaning the lieks of Mclardy are probably making the majority of decisions. Is that correct ?

I am personally worried about what all this must be doing to Jim's health. It's a worry when you are so reliant on one man to unite a club. We should have a team that can step up when Jim is not up to it. I'm not sure he's coping at the moment.

After seeing him on FC tonight I thought the same thing, talking about doing something during the off season.

Firstly he's health is of paramount importance and him getting away would surely help that.
Secondly this football club hopefully will be around for 100's of years to come long past Jimmy or any of us being here.
This great football club is far bigger then Jimmy or any other individual and we can't forget that it is so important that melbourne is governed properly now so they dont waste this enormous rebuild they have undertaken.

I felt very uneasy watching Garry tonight.

Saying that he will help if Jim asks him, claiming he doesnt want to do certain things but if Jim asks him to help he will.

Should Jimmy have to ask you Garry? Time to step up sweetheart, some things in life are more important than your contract at Channel 9.

It will happen I have no doubts about it... Gary said that he feels so giulty watching his mate battle for his life & worries about him & the club. He will run the show over the preason or maybe for a year until Jimmy gets well!

Jimmy is too strong not to beat this, but he needs to keep his health in check. Stress is not what he needs.

I for one respect Gary for changing his mind and helping both Jim & the Club..

Yeah I think Jimmy needs some time off, he has done amazing things for this club since he has been president but under his condition I don't think he needs to be worrying about the mess that's going on at our club, seems like Garry might be taking his spot until next season if he can convince him. Take some time off Jimmy, Refresh yourself and get well and you'll come back better than ever.

I agree he didn't put forward a consistent line of intention & should not have to be asked. Whatever he does I think it will be in an impotent capacity, more of a perceived role with the possibility of a some decorative 'influence.'

Could be wrong but seemed very noncommittal.

It was unpleasant to see Jim yesterday as his health is obviously taking it's toll and i just hope he can get away from this difficult time at the club and focus on himself and his family.

Cancer trully is an ugly beast that we have all had affect our lives in someway and that's why charity's and collections that go towards battling this illness are so important and need our support.
