Melbourne Reject All-Stars from 1988 - 2000

Okay, here it is...........The Melbourne Reject All-Stars from the end of 1988 right through till around the end of 1999.

This one could have included alot of players, but I was able to narrow it down to a select few. I tried to select players that we, well, crap and that didn't play alot of games for the club.

Just so you know, Brent Grgic didn't get selected in the team. In my opinion, he didn't qualify. Anyway, here it goes. Alot of people who know something about these players will, I think, get a real good laugh out of this one. It shows how poorly we picked youngsters and how badly we traded for others. I am still laughing at this team..........anyway, here they are.......

Backs: Andrew "Disco" Lamprill - Paul Prymke - Damien Gaspar

Half Backs: Todd McHardy - Craig Nettelbeck - Luke Norman

Centre: Glenn Molloy - Nick Pesch - Robert Pyman

Half Forward: Donald C-Collins - Dean Irving - Sean Charles

Forwards: Jeff Hilton - Darren Cuthbertson - Greg Doyle

Rucks: Leigh Newton - Brett Bailey - Simon Eishold

There you go! There are probably some that missed out, but God Damn that is a **** side there!! It makes me laugh!

Some of you may argue some of them, so feel free, I know some will anyway.

nah... i liked him, but to be honest with you, he wasn't all that good... sure he wasn't bad - but nothing special. why did i like him again???

Charles kicked 5 in his debut then did **** all. I hated Prymke cos he sucked, and Nettelbeck never did anything.

Phil Gilbert was they guy we traded. Yes, he was stiff to miss out. David/Donald, don't matter. They both sucked.

I just love looking back on this stuff and laughing. My mates used to give me **** about our poor lists, and they were pretty pathetic.

Yep the only changes I'd make would be: Gilbert for Charles (sure he sucked, but I'd have him as an emergency)
And David C-C for... anyone, and put that person as an emergency.
Overall a good effort!
(wouldn't it be better if a team of rejects had say Grgic as the worst?? Seems we did some pretty poor selections, which usually involved going for star players brothers....)

Agree totally with that last part. We were probably kicking ourselves we didn't pick Ottens, so we got his reject brother! Same with C-Collins bros and Damien Gaspar!! All of them sucked, and their brothers are star players!!

The other C-Collins could come in for Charles, and Gilbert in as an emregency! Glad you liked me effort tho.

yeah, i remember when i was 6 i told my cuz that i'm now a melb supporter, he bashed me up!! he's like 7 yrs older than, and a roos supporter trying to get me to go for north, so he bashed me when i said no and went for melbourne. all i remember was that he's going 'no, no, no you have a crap team, crap list, crap techices and **** like that. now look at us!! Glad u like it. I put Prymke in there cos, well, I just hated him. I can remember doing a piece back in Year 8 in Graphics, it was a piece called "Prymke the Pussy". Not in an offensive way. I think I got a B for it.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing yours mate!! U could probably add some players I may have missed.

And Or, Gerj didn't pay me a thing. I just didn't think he qualified to tell you the truth.

Yeah and it seems like the boys have been taking a few lessons from him because there were a few shocking passes today too....

Gerj didn't aulify because he has played many games for us, and there were times when he did play well.

Against Collingwood in 1998, he had a ton of possies and had 14 marks at CHF. He has looked promising at some stages, albeit earlier, in his career.
