what an unbelievable game. I tipped brisbane by 15 points...well i
was only 100 off!!!
It was bloody great to get our first AFL trophy, even if it is just
pre season cup!!! Even tho it is just pre season, and every crow
supporter in australia will be playing it down to just practice
games...well i remember when the crows made it in 94 and 95 and it was
a huge event, so let us have our glory.
I cannot believe how well port played. Thats the 5th time weve
dominated a game out of 5!! If brisbane actually played the ball then
they might of been closer than 85 points!!!
Dirty bastards...Loser Leigh must have told em to play the man because
the amount of rough house tactics they used was disgraceful.
Jonathon Brown...i hope he has a nice 6 weeks off!!! What an absolute
dirty arseh*le. Francis with his head over the ball picking it up,
Brown comes in with a deliberate elbow to the head. Chris Scott
decided to elbow Cornes in the head as well and got reported.
Akermanis is a dirty bugger.
Stewy Dew!!!!!!!!!!! 3 goals 1 in 2 minutes changed the game. And he
kicked a goal 10 minutes later too. And Francis came back on and
kicked 2 rippers. And kane Cornes came off the bench to kick 2
goals, one reminisent of Scott Hodges kick in that prelim!!!
Kingsley was a surprise at the time for the MT medal, but looking over
the game, he didnt give his opponent anything all night. Brisbane
really looked patheticAnd port had basically no real forward line to
speak off...a very makeshift forward line, and we still kicked over
100 points for the 5th time in a row. I think we have a lot to look
forward to this year. No lockwood, Tredrea, Harwood, Lade.
ANOTHER Big man Barny French has gone down, with what looked like a
broken ankle. He is tough tho...he did it a bit before hand, but
still had the courage to sprint to a contest just to spoil a mark.
People who constantly bag Cockatoo Collins should shut their trap...he
has arguably been the best player in our side in the ansett cup, and
might even start onthe ball in the real season.
The defence gave nothing all night...Mead, Poulton, Kingsley, Waganeen
played down there a bit, Guerra, Wakelin was magnificent. Our
midfiled was spot on...Dew was lightning in the second quarter,
Francis played a blinder despite being attempted to be put in
hospital, Francou actually played well, Nick Stevens ran a muck in the
third, schofiedl did a bit when he came on.
Primus was wonderful yet again in the ruck...destroying two opponents
for a half before letting Cain Ackland in on the act. He played
bloody well for his first game with more than 2 minutes game time...he
showed he could be handy this year, up forward or as backup ruckmen.
We have so much depth. Junior Murray, played his first game this year
and did a few good things, Monty showed no signs of ankle damage, and
burgoyne was great in the midfield.
Is Josh Carr the new best tagger in the league?? I reckon he would
come close. James played yet another consistent game as well.
And the crowd was awesome...35,000, looked more than that but ohw ell.
Even the members was packed!!! havent seen that at footy park for a
while!! The noise when they showed that the crows got thumped by the
saints was bloody loud!!
A few crows fans that went along commented that they havent seen a
crowd this enthusiastic and loud at a game for the crows since
probably the 97 semi against geelong, and that they dont really get
into it anymore.
I just hope everyone that showed up last night goes out and buys a
bloody season ticket so we can do that every week!!
