I went out for dinner last night, then to a bar and didn't get attacked by a single Sudanese gang. Not even once
I'm going into the city today. If the Liberal party and Sky After Dark are to be believed, and why would they lie about this, I'm bound to be bashed and stabbed before I get off the tram.

There are a lot of people given bail, parole, etc who shouldn't be.

This isn't a new thing but what is somewhat new is the accelerated and emboldened racism.
If it's not kept in check, we end up like the United States. Do you really want that? I ****ing don't.

I was told it wasn't safe to go to a restaurant in Melbourne several years ago. I've probably been to at least 30-40 dinner outings there since. No machete attacks, despite said warning.

Nah it's because leftism has changed radically, it's been coopted as moralistic and 'good' as opposed to having actual ties to tangible beliefs and idealogies. The modern left is more interested in getting involved in some war that's none of our business in the Middle East than it does for welfare.

There are plenty of people who want to see rapists hung in Edinburgh Gardens who'd call themselves hardcore lefties. Concepts like rehabilitation are left wing but it's not part of their emotional agenda so it's discarded. The private school-ification of left wing politics means people aren't even up in arms about how you have to pay for a GP visit now or the environment.

It's been massively coopted, I'd say what we have now isn't leftism at all, I'd say it's driven by DEI hires in governments. I mean ffs have you seen the state of some of the west's health secretaries? People hate RFK and say he's right wing and evil because... he doesn't want pesticides in food and reckons kids should exercise more?

I'm not that old but I'm old enough to have seen how leftism has massively changed. It's funny as ****, the campaigners banging on about Palestine had no issues making Aboriginal jokes or voting Liberal 10 years ago. A majority of socialists and traditional Labor voters I know are now more aligned with One Nation.
