I could see this coming for a few weeks now. Melks just hadn't done enough to warrant a spot in a side that doesn't have room for the likes of Welsh, Prismall, Dyson etc.. Not the end of the world, he just needs to go back and play well for Bendigo for a couple of weeks and I'm sure he'll be back in.

Definately a rest. I wouldnt read too much into it.

Agree. More a rest issue than a form issue IMO, and he needs one, the way he smashes himself into a contest.

For such a small bloke you'd think he'd have a greater understanding of the idea that he stands to be crunched a bit more severely than most. He does not show this understanding when smashing into a contest, and that's why I like the boy. :thumbsu:

At one stage last week he was chasing Harry O and suddenly stopped and doubled over, he looked like he was holding his stomach. He was very slow to get off the ground, but he ended up coming back on. Having seen this, I would say there is some sort of injury and he needs a weeks rest.

Only dropped for a rest... Bendigo had the bye so he wouldnt have played this weekend anyway.

Interesting to see if he gets back in for the Eagles game...

form hasnt been that bad.
we've had some huge games in the opening rounds so im not surprised we are starting to rest the bodies that crash through the contests.
Wouldnt be surprised to see Heppell rest either this week or next

Not just a rest, has a couple of defensive things to work on but he will be back.
Has struggled in the 3 big games so far, Pies x 2 and Carlton.

Even if he was dropped it is no big deal.

Melk is a second year player and as good as he has been in little bursts he still has a lot to work on.

Melksham back in for Welsh according to SEN.

Blessing in disguise if I ever seen one. I was over the moon with the outcome. Welsh has got no place in our side, unless Howlett, Hocking or Lonergan gets injured, even then I can think of better replacement than him.

(Sorry Welshy...I think best for you to go and help out Sheeds at GWS :)).
