Not a bad effort Most people probably already know the figures, but still:

AFL clubs have more members than ever before.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou this morning announced that the membership total across the league’s 16 clubs had passed the 600,000 mark for the first time in the game’s history.


Demetriou said the league’s official membership audit showed clubs had 614,251 members as at June 30, well up from last year’s 586,748.

Eleven clubs - Brisbane Lions, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Sydney, St Kilda, West Coast and the Western Bulldogs - reported membership records this year. Collingwood has a league-high 57,408 members.
