With Tapping moving to VFL (which I think is good) I thought maybe they could have got a fresh face into the lineup somewhere. They rate Cam Roberts so I guess we will see what he brings but they could have found a new forward coach.

Tapping built Collingwood’s VFL program into a powerhouse and was a development coach at Brisbane who took them from spoon to perennial finalists.

He has as many coaching chops than anyone else on our panel. An important role for him to develop his skills and for the development of the kids.

What we need is a good people manager at this stage with most of the technical gameplan details being headed by the assistants. I'm fully prepared to criticise Essendon's hiring choices but you get what you can get at this stage of the year.
